Good set of earphones

Can anyone recommend a good set of earphones that don't cost the earth?

I never seem to have any look with these damn things - my iPod ones ALWAYS go crackly in one ear. I splashed out on some £40 Sony ones which are absolute rubbish!

Save me from this musical hell!

Sennheiser CX300. I got mine for £29. Amazon are doing them for £18.

I own a LOT of cans, and for the price these things are they are a real bargain IMO. For only a small driver they pack a lot of punch.

Having said all that, do you prefer in-ear, on-ear or over-ear?

Have to say I prefer the ones that don't 'tunnel' as it were as I find they don't stay in!

I have these and can say that they are very good, fit snuggly inside your lughole and sound quality is very good. They come in various colours.

Have to go with the Sennheiser's. Just got mine and they're fab.I was caught up between the CX 300 and the CX400 but decided on the former due to reviews and so far, they've been excellent.

My only wish was that I took some more time before purchasing my latest set of 'phones, and maybe spending some more money on them!! Bought a cheap pair of philips (she8500's) from argos at the start of the month and i'm wishing I hadn't bothered. They hurt my ears and when I move my head, they fall out and thats with all three different sets of rubber things attached!

Will be buying a pair of senns when I have some spare cash as I can't continue to se those. The only place they are fit for are the bin!

I had some Philips a few years ago, were awful had similar problems to yourself. Put me off ear-bud style headphones for a while.

I always find the in ear phones absolutely kill my ears, hate wearing them and I also find you lose a lot of sound from them compared to on ear phones.

Sennheiser every time!

I currently use a pair of CX300-II Precision's with my ipod, my previous pair were the MX-55's and my partner uses the OMX 60 VC.

All 3 are superb, I personally prefer the deeper bass and the noise supression the CX300-II offers but my fiance prefers the OMX as they clip over her ear and dont go 'in'.

We both swear by them and wouldn't consider any other make.

I'm looking for headphones that I can listen to an MP3 player on the tube and I don't hear the announcements over the PA in the carriage or other people's mobiles ring if on the bus.

I don't mind if they are big.

Is there such a thing ?

Thanks.

You need a noise cancelling set. Wether they are an ear canal type that provide a tight seal or a set that uses active circuitry to cancel the noise.
Most of the good brands do either.

Sennheiser
AKG
Shure
Ultimate Ears

Are all brands looking into.
Budget?
