hundreds of coloured vertical lines on Samsung TV
I've just bought a new series 6 (1080P) 37" LCD Samsung TV all was fine for about 2 Hours and then hundreds of vertical coloured lines appeared across the screen regardless of which source we played through it. These lines appeared to be in front of any image on the screen. Switching off and on did no good, resetting did no good, so in the end I gave up and re boxed and had the TV collected from where I bought it.
The shop I bought from has a policy of testing the set prior to sending out a replacement. Knowing my luck the thing will be fine, when they get it back on their bench. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be, and hopefully reassure me that this sort of problem will reappear on the testing bench? Thanks JP |

I think you have done the best you can to troubleshoot the problem.
I must say whenever things like these happen to me especially when the equipment is new I become very suspicious of them afterward. Did you take out insurance? I don't subscribe to it but you don't want after the one year you have to go and buy a new one. |

I'm not an expert on tv problems, but i do think the the coloured vertical lines will still be there when they are testing the set.I also think you'll need a brand new screen.

Sounds to me like a problem with the LCD panel.

Which shows that they could see the problem when it was sent to them, either that or they are just very generous.
Not really, you are entitled to ask for a replacement rather than a repair and of course the seller will then claim back the cost from the manufacturer |

The poster said the shop offered a new set,it doesn't say the poster made a list of demands, and requested a new tv. I stand by what i say until the poster says otherwise. |
