EPG won't update
I pressed the guide button on my Hdr 12 and a half minutes ago and the picture hasn't returned in the background and the box is just sat waiting to update the EPG. The first time it happened I didn't time it and exited and checked the diagnostics to make sure there was a strong enough signal to both tuners qual 100% stren 90%. If it hangs like this at T-15 prior to a recording it's either going to miss any schedule changes or fail to record. I don't want to do a factory reset if I can help it as there are some schedules that have not updated for a week or three and the programmes are not liable to appear in the next week or so.
Anyone else having trouble or got any suggestions GC 20 mins now |

Thanks for that Graham.. I've just went via the schedule button red button route and wizzed to the end of the 8 day period and it does appear to be complete maybe the lack of Brit shorts/epg transmission is stopping the stb to switch back to the background video???

All scheduled recordings gone!
Hmmm, I wonder if this was unlucky timing by me? I deleted a couple of non-Freesat channels, then back to Freesat and watched BBC1 for a bit. Put the HDR into standby. On powering back up the new channels pop-up appeared. Then the Freesat tune panel was displayed. It froze at that point and having recoverd from that all my scheduled recorings have been wiped. Doh!
This begs the question was it the deleting the non-Freesat channels or was my powering back up at the time this EPG repopulation fault occurred?

Adding/Moving/Deleting non freesat channels always deletes your freesat recording schedules

Still not sure what will happen when it wakes up 15 min before to check the epg before recording. Won't it hang in the same way ?

I am experiencing the same issue I think. I select 'guide' and the message 'Receiving programme information' appears at the top right hand corner. Normally this would stop after a minute or so and I would then hear the audio from the channel I was on but it this is not happening. The EPG does not appear to be doing the update?
Is this the same issue you guys are experiencing?

So is it safe to assume that this is a common issue and is at 'there end' ?

But yes it seems that it points in the direction of transmission issues rather than a box issue. I think it could be worth keeping an eye on this although I tested whether schedules would still work I have a niggling suspicion that if a tuner is already in use ie during a recording if other schedule is due the next occasion to query the epg may result in a fail or am I just being a doom merchant?

I had the same thing earlier but its now fixed so I assume it was something to do with the data stream rather than our boxes.

I had the same problem yesterday but it is OK today although I have the impression that it is taking a lot longer than normal (could be imagination, watched pot and all that). Interesting that there's no mention of the problem in the Freesat forum.

Anyone else having issues at the moment (Sunday 10:39 AM). Pressed "Guide" twice now and after 3 or so minutes it is still saying "Receiving programme information" (tried a reboot after the first try at updating the guide as well).

I've had this but got mine to update by doing another Freesat Channel Scan. Nothing else was added but after saving it, when I went to the EPG it finally updated.
One word of caution, the Freesat Channel Update Scan hangs around 71% (just leave it and the scan will complete). |

Also by going the 'schedule>red button' route you don't loose the buffered transmission on your hard drive like you do when pressing the 'Guide' button

There have been some issues by a change on the Sky platform.
In the EIT (The bit that sends the EPG) a number called the transport stream ID has been changed. As this different from the transport stream being recieved the box doesn't show the EPG. |
