I am trying to connect my Goodmans LD3755HD TV to my new Tiscali+ box. I have the cable plugged in but do not seem to be able to find a way of tuning ? The Scart connection if fine. But should I be able to just connect through the HDMI cable ?

There's no 'tuning' involved, just select the HDMI socket on your TV remote control.

Never seen a Tiscali box, but do you have to switch it to HDMI on a menu? - you do on V+ boxes - but Sky HD boxes output all signals at all times.

thanks - can't seem to find anything on the remote menu .. i called tiscali and they were monumentally unhelpful .
As it's not HD there's not a great deal of point in bothering with HDMI, depending on how good your TV's scaler is it may even be worse than RGB SCART.
