There's something rather fishy about this saga involving Jody.

It's too convneinent that events have occurred to allow this storyline to unflold, culminating in a tense showdown between Jody and the other contestants on a night when someone was supposed to be sacked (but wasn't).

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but it came across as staged (with actor Jody agreeing to go along with it). The suspense seemed contrived.

Hi Sid

I think it was very contrived too but I'm not complaining as I'm easily pleased I thought tonight's episode was the best since HK began last week. I enjoyed it!

I think youre right..Ratings arent that special maybe they now realise letting Marco do the sacking might just backfire bigtime..
notice how claudia said 'soon you will have chance to vote'
it did seem very scripted around there and when he delayed all that time before saying he wanted to stay..sorry that was right out of Xfactor

Huge Mistake letting marco have his say who stays or goes..bet he made it a condition or he wouldnt return for another series.
the entire events around Jody seemed staged and lets be honest..I cant see any of them being happy with the Iffy ratings they want exposure so quick chat with the producers telling them they need more tension wouldnt be a problem.
that wasnt a natural event around the table all that was missing Joan collins coming in and slapping Linda.

I agree. It was totally stage managed from start to finish imho. Not sure whether the others were in on it but jodi and marco clearly were.

The first sacking was always going to be on Sunday, they just created a bit of drama.

I'm sure at the beginning of the week they said the first sacking would be on Sunday, then on Friday night we were told it would be Saturday, then he doesn't sack anyone and the first one is Sunday again. Makes me wonder......

He sucks right up to Marco and it's cringeworthy to watch. I'm watching because I love Ade Edmondson and I hate having to endure him!

LOL! I believe that's scheduled for tomorrow night! Joan's choice of weapon will be a wet kipper.

Ade seems to be biding his time. Give Toady Jody enough rope and he will surely hang himself.

Yes I agree it all seemed a bit too dramatic for me. That Jody really does my head in though. I have never heard of him until hells kitchen but he definately overacts in my opinion.

Hey Whip

I was annoyed at myself for being sucked in (but I was!).

On reflection, I felt foolish for being entertained by what seemed to be a 'performance' as opposed to something 'real.'

Maybe it wasn't contrived, maybe it was. I'm tired of trying to second guess what's going on behind the scenes and just take it at face value. For my money they all went down in my estimation tonight especially Anthea, Grant and Ade.

Yeah, I suppose you're right I don't feel foolish though, I was lightly entertained which is all I can expect from a show which is classed as light entertainment lol. I do realise it's also classed as "Reality TV" but I don't read too much into that these days!

Really? I found myself liking those three even more, (especially Grant, who up til now had irritated the hell out of me).

I do understand your frustrations. I usually have very little time for threads about contestants being 'moles' and results being 'fixed' and general conspiracy theories. But on this occasion, I think there's some truth in it.

No Grant is my least favourite of the lot. So up himself and speaking about 'his wife' as though she's the queen or something. Also he seems to be completely humourless (rather like 'his wife')

It's precisely the fact that Grant takes himself so seriously that I find him quite amusing! I understand why Naomi and Danielle are often in fits of laughter around him. He's becoming a bit of a character.

And I've admired the way he has helped and defended Anthea. It seems genuine and shows they really care for one another. Believe me, I was very prepared to dislike this pair. But I find myself warming to them instead.

This is indeed a complete sham. Ratings are going down the crapper and this is their last ditch stunt.

An insult to even the intelligence of a Gweedy fan.

its the editing-it seemed like it was all revolved around that coz maybe nothing else was going on simple as that

i think people look too much into things

I was expecting Marco to boot him out for pausing before saying he wanted to stay. Saying "if you had to think about it that long you dont want to be here"
Jody proved he is a shit actor there

It certainly left me wondering whey they would have shown if the arguments didn't happen

Have to agree the whole episode was so contrived it came out of the tv and hit you bang in the face!

These tv companies must think we are absolutely idiots to think that we cannot see how they are trying to get viewers because this series of HK has failed to pull in the viewers.

Put in a bit of aggrievation amongst the contestants that will do the trick! Sorry tv execs but we can see right through your little plans!

We are a lot cleverer than you think

All I know is I'd never heard of Jody before this programme and if I never see or hear of him again it will be too soon. A totally repellent human being.

No question his behaviour has been blatantly contrived since he got in there ... culminating in his Razzie worthy performance last night. Whether it's his own doing to attract attention like he did on Adrenaline Junkie, or he's been slipped an extra fiver for his services by the producers ... I'm not sure ....
