Hi people I'm new here, been reading up this forum before i bought my media center PC.

Something i seemed to have missed though...

I used to connect my sky HD box to my dvd suround system, using the AUX I could watch the TV and listen in suround.

Now I've put a Media center PC in the DVD's place. Sky is now connected to the media center tv tuner, and i can send the signal around the house using media center extenders. BUT I was wondering as i cant watch HD quality via media center, is there a way if i want to watch skyHD on my TV, and get the sound straight threw the PC's 5.1 speakers?

Thanks

Andy

HDMI from Sky box to TV. Optical (or coaxial) from Sky box to media centre. Select HDMI as TV source. Select auxiliary as Media Centre source. Watch picture on TV. Listen to audio from Media centre.

Your TV doesn't give a monkey's whether your media centre is switched on or not. Your media centre doesn't give a monkey's whether you are watching its output, or something else, on the TV. Use the media centre for what it is good for (producing DD5.1 audio) and use the TV for what it is good for (showing high definition pictures).

Thanks for the reply Willie!

I have tried that, prolly should have mentioned it.

When i do it that way, the sound is 3-4 seconds slower than the image (suppose media center is rendering?)

The speakers dont have a any kind of audio in to plug the sky box in to. The PC does, but i dont see a way of "hearing" what the skybox would be pushing in... (3rd party software maybe? )

Thanks!
