I never understand why people think it's acceptable to come out with such things when they're on a TV show? Do they not realise how offensive they are being?

She has a right to her own opinions, which are part of her culture - if we criticise her about it, it is offensive to her, and borderline racist. Watch it.

I am sure somewhere in that culture it says not to offend others..... which she clearly ignored!

She has the right to hold whatever opinion she likes but everyone else also has the right to challenge and criticise that opinion. And quite frankly the idea of challenging her homophobia is somehow racist is totally ridiculous. Would you forgive a racist comment from someone who grew up in a racist family simply because that is part of their culture?

Well, i just feel sorry for poor Howard, reportedly massively offended and all.

It may not be integral to the overall result, but as the BBC and the producers of the show seem to value entertainment rather highly this series, it may very well make the final edit.

We shall wait and see.

With all due respect, she has chosen to live in a country where being gay is accepted so should therefore repsect that...as we respect so many religions etc in this country.

She should know that this behaivour isnt acceptable in our society.
How would she like it if somebody said they wouldnt let their kids near someone of her heritage?
THAT would be racism - however, challenging her on her remarks isnt, is is perfectly justifiable.

Poor Howard She is entitled to her opinion, but didn't she realise how offensive her opinion would be to Howard and the viewers that will be watching at home? Oh dear, oh dear.

I do think it will make the programme. The Apprentice thrives on a bit of controversy. Well done to Howard for keeping his cool

what a load of cobblers....criticising her for making homophobic comments is not in the least bit racist. If she has said the things the article suggests, then she hasn't got a leg to stand on from a moral point of view.

Did she know Howard was gaay at this point? I know a article game out a few weeks ago about him saying all contestants were fine about it etc...

I think she had her right, but agree with everyone else when she opted to live here where it's acceptable to be gay etc.

.
to be honest i think it's irrelevent. The alleged comment is offensive regaurdless, just more so if she did know that Howard was gay.

I feel sorry for her son, tbh, having a bigot as a parent is never the best of starts in life.....

Now that is more patronisingly xeonophobic and racist than anything she supposedly said .

There are plenty of born and bread, white brits who 'should' know that sort of stuff isn't acceptable in 'our' society but go ahead and do it anyway.

That is not necessarily a product of where she's from, how imbecilic .

I heard it all now - you can't accuse a black person of being homophobic because they might be offended and therefore see the criticism as racist. Are you aware of what happened in Rwanda - black people can be very racist and intolerant too!

I have myself suffered racism, so I can assure you I am not like that - it was my hatred for all forms of discrimination that spurred me to comment on this thread.
I didnt claim that it was a product of where she is from - I was responding to somebody who claimed that it was part of her culture.
If I have unintentionally caused some offence I apologise.

They showed the 'ethnic minority' remarks made by Yasmina so I have no doubt they'll show this. How sad.

Even I think that's b*ll*cks and I'm mixed-race myself.

Who said you can't?

Plenty of people on this thread (myself included) have criticised Mona's backward views and haven't been accused of being racists.

Her colour is irrelevant.

They can be racist anywhere in the world, regardless of where they are from.

This is silly, yes what she said was wrong/stupid rah rah rah but it's not the Apprentice that gets involved in stupid "rows" that reach the papers and are broadcast, should leave it out and edit it into Big Brother or some other crap, more their level.

so your suggesting that the BBc brush this sort of behaviour under the carpet?
