In a way, in the same way that straight clubs are a pulling ground. From now on im not adressing incognito lol, I cant believe some people are so ignorant, sooo, if a person said they wouldnt want there child to meet a disabled person, would that be ok? or any other minority?
And as for the person that said a child was taken away from its grandparents because a gay couple wanted it, i would like to see some proof, and if there is any i suspect it will be heavily biased. The fact that the couple trying to adopt the child are gay would not have been a factor

Before reading this thread I really did think we had moved on since homosexuality was known as 'the love that dare not speak it's name.'
Why on earth should Mona or anyone else be fearful of their children meeting and perhaps developing a friendship with a gay person? Has it never occurred to these people that harmony in society only comes with acceptance of everyone, whatever their race, colour or sexuality. I refuse to use the word tolerance because some might define it as 'to put up with' which I find just as offensive as bigotry.
I hope this prejudice marks her card; after all would Sir Alan want to employ a bigot.

To be honest I couldnt give a shi* if you address me or not. All these sorts of threads tell me is that DS forum is pretty much a gay only forum and if you dont agree with the people here you are called for everything. That is far worse! good bye.

I was just making it clear it that i wasnt adressing you alone, and FYI, not all straight people are slightly homophobic like this woman, and therefore even they may be offended by her comments, you dont have to be gay to see when a persons being slightly harsh towards a gay person

I know delectable may be a little, er, forward with his opinion, but he has a point.
Lots, and lots of people, when thinking about their child, would be apprehensive subjecting them to a gay man.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it is commonplace across every age, culture, language, class and gender of the UK, which suggests a little more analysis is needed concerning Mona's words, for example.

She said she wouldn't like her son to be in the company of a gay person - just what was she implying - that her child wouldn't be safe in their company; that somehow they might 'catch' homosexuality? How would she feel if a racist person said they didn't like the idea of their children mixing with her? Surely homophobia is just as bad as racism!
