Home Made BBQ!!
I am officially amazed, have just read about this so thought id try it.
Basically just dug a small hole in the garden, stacked some bricks around it, stuck some charcole in the middle and a cooling rack on the top!! Best BBQ Ive ever had, not only did the food taste brilliant, but there was minimal cleaning and I got the masculine 'man makes fire' feeling. ![]() Im gonna do this more often, it just feels so much better then a manufactored BBQ! ![]() Have any of you guys ever had a DIY BBQ? |

Sounds good. What were the dimensions of the hole? specifically, how deep?
And did you build the bricks in the hole of just on the grass surrounding it? |

Made the hole about 20 cm deep and then with the bricks stacked arounf it, it ended up at about 35cm deep, and was shaped and about as wide as a roasting tray!!
The bricks were stacked around the side and not actuall in the hole!! |

.This is basically what I did... http://www.awesometools.com/images/B...enfire-300.jpg But I dug a little hole so the charcole wasnt as raised, then just swapped the spit roast for a cooling tray/wire rack. |

Technically, grilling over coals is not barbecueing either, hehe. Was watching a Anothony Bourdain show the other day about South Carolina BBQs.

![]() There is never going to be a definative answer as to what BBQ is and where it comes from, I've heard tonnes of theories as to what constitutes BBQ, origionaly it was meant to be: 1.dig a hole 2.throw goat in hole 3.cover goat in coal leaves 4.set alight and leave for hours |
