Salary during 16 weeks?

Had a quick search but can't seem to find anything.

Just curious what is the salary paid to the candidates during the 16 weeks. Does anyone know?

Or do they have to fund it themselves?
Or are they paid weekly?
What happens when they go before the 16 weeks?

Please do link me to the thread if one is already there and I've missed it.

I'd assume they only get paid for air-time (however much that is).

So it is only £1 then. That means I can't apply then for next 10 years when I am debt free

So it must be rough for them then in a way when they move down there for filming. So is the PentHouse all paid for then?

Cheers fr the link, that's why I didn't find it, I only searched last 6 months

That T&C makes it sound like the £1 is for their copyright in the entire series. I expect they get a per-day amount for their time, too. I've heard they do on Big Brother, for comparison. It won't be a lot but would help with mortgages etc that they have to keep up even when living in the penthouse.

when I was looking at the Big Brother application form a few years ago, I'm sure contestants were paid just under £40 a day

Are they actually in there for 16 weeks? Each task takes 2 days so that would mean they have 5 days off a week!

Every year, the filming takes about 6 weeks. All this rubbish about one task per week, utter crap!

The last two are paid a holding salary - based on what they were earning before - between the end of filming and the final.

All of these expenses are a legit part of the production costs.
