I'm actually quite surprised that Marco decided to cook another veal for Ansell's girlfriend. I loved the scene between Marco and Nick when Marco was saying that he let him stay because of his white tie, He paid his respects to the 'great white' Marco and Nick obviously go back a long way and I believe it was Marco's way of making the peace with his Head Waiter.

However, I thought Jonathan Ansell refusing to shake hands with Nick was ridiculous. Marco had already gone above Nick's head and he didn't need any further embarrassment/humiliation. Just not gentlemanly behaviour by Ansell and I was quite surprised

Aah - I see - so you can only be a REAL fan if you support him 100% no matter what he says or does...and I guess that means, unfortunately, that I will never be allowed into that particular fanclub... shame that millions more viewers who saw him make a tit of himself tonight might be in the same boat...

.....doesn`t surprise me - he was trying to milk his 5 minutes in the spotlight as much as possible - I for one am fed up of seeing his face every time I turn on the TV - he was even on Countdown last week for god`s sake He made himself look a right pretentious little idiot last night

The customer is always right until they start acting like a complete twerp like JA did. How pathetic of him not to shake Nick's hand because he didn't offer a grovelling apology.

On the plus side, JA's girlfriend, surely that's punishment enough for him having such a large ego.

<<< A "Real" fan who thinks he behaved like a jumped up, egotistical twerp! He was such an embarassment! And good for Nick for giving him what for!!!

No thank you
In my view meat should be cooked well with juices run clear but thats my view
What upsetting me is the slamming of Jonathan and Debbie

Yep, I agree that Ansell was 100% correct. It wasn't as if they hadn't bothered to check to see well-cooked the dish was supposed to be. Nick acted like an arse and I don't blame Ansell for going up to Marco to express his displeasure at the treatment.

I thought Jonathan acted like a right Prima Donna. He has obviously let his small amount of fame go to his head.

It was a free meal. Get over it. Eat around the edges.

Meat in a restaurant is pink. Thats how chefs like to cook meat. They think if you over cook meat, you loose the juices and the flavour.

I went to Michael Caine's restaurant way back when, and i ordered a steak well done, and it arrived medium. I decided to trust the chef, and ate it. It was delicious, and it changed the way I eat my meat.

Ansell came across as such a ****. He really is up himself. I'm on Nick's side

I've never been able to stand Ansell or 'squeaky pig' as we call him in our house.

He was so desperate to get on camera.

And I love Nick!

The levels to which some people stoop in order to get camera time!

Jonathan Ansell just succeeded in making himself look like a prize idiot and he showed his ignorance too in not shaking Nick's hand when it was proffered.

Talk about petulant - what a diva he is!

It's not as though they were paying for the meal. Just leave it if it doesn't suit and buy a sarnie on the way home instead.

I do think, if his girlfriend had tried the veal, she would have probably enjoyed it but she didn't even try. She would have found it more succulent than an overcooked piece.

I've not seen this eppy yet - its sitting on my Sky+ box...

However I am of the opinion that if you are going for a FREE meal then you get what you're given. I would never go to someones house for dinner and then start complaining that it wasn't cooked the way I like it...

Yes he was right to complain... about his free meal that was perfectly cooked.

Totally agree. He is a bit of a hypocrit really - his duck on Come Dine With Me was very pink if I remember rightly

Ahh the Milky Bar Kid.

Marco should have told the pratt to punch his girlfriend in the face, then see if it was pink enough, if not, ask him to bring her over for Marco to finish the job. lol

Marco should have backed Nick up by being consistent - the other night when someone complained the meat was too pink he refused do anything about it and threw them out - did a tie really make that difference?????????
Alrightmate

I wish Marco was consistent.
It doesn't seem right that when that woman the other day said that her meal was cold....when asked, and she was urged and coaxed to go and tell Marco, and was very polite and respectful about it, Marco was very rude and insulting.
But here we have uppity little pipsqueak Answell throwing a tantrum and Marco just concedes and cooks him another meal.

meat should be cooked not pink being pink is raw and thats not good for you juices should run clear with no blood
Not seen the programme but will see it on catch up tomorrow
I too would of be angry with waiter or anyone working in resturant was rude to my loved ones
Jonathan and Debbie like good food and raw food thats meat being pink is only fit for pigs
Good on Jonathan for defending Debbie”

Obviousley you are not very cultured are you? Have you never heard of 'rare' meat. Thats how they cook it in posh restaurants. If you want a cremated bit of leather go to your local Harvester not a restaurant run by Marco-Pierre White.

I notice it was Debbie King who started it. Awful woman. I loathed her on Quizmania. Fake baked mutton dressed as lamb and a huge nose. Had I been the waiter it would have been tipped over her straw blonde hair.

Although when you go to a restaurant run by such a talented/famous/notorious chef as Marco, you really are going there taste the food they have created presented in the way that they desire it to be presented; and in those restaurants the only person who is always right is the chef.

Heavens you lot are being a bit naive - this was a total put up job - so so staged. The cameras were all ready to roll but as will all these shows its all in the editing. The net effect is something front of house is being talked about - Marco must be really pleased.
