Eh?? I didn't say they didn't serve good food. I just said that in posh restuarants the chefs prefer to serve it rare to medium rare. It tastes much better in fact.

If you go to very expensive resturants as the one not paying the bill you get menu but the menu you get does not show the price.
Well thats how it use to be but as not been to the top posh resturants for many years it may iof changed.

The difference being that diners at Hells Kitchen don't pay for their meals. Its all free. So if they don't like it tough- get a pizza on the way home.

This is almost more entertaining than this thread... haven't dipped my toe into the water of true fans for a while...apparently we're all very nasty on DS and haven't liked Jonathan since he was on X Factor - waging some personal vendetta because he spoke to Simon Cowell at some point or other... can't really follow it - but it kept me entertained for a few minutes...

He had a right to stick up for his fiance. However, he took it too far, especially given that it's a free meal. Refusing to shake Nick's hand put him in the wrong.




Besides, anyone who watched the last series will know that MPW threw out every diner who complained about a meal. I'm not saying MPW is right to do that (although I can't imagine he'd do it in his own restaurant where he needs customers to survive) but it wasn't exactly unexpected that Nick would ask them to leave for complaining.

Bloody Heathens! Why enter a Michelin star chefs’ establishment, where serving ‘pink’ is the mantra and correct etiquette. If their retarded taste buds wanted a safe & bland fair, they should have opted for one of the many motor service station eateries - where their bland tastes would’ve been catered for.

I think Jonathan should be a contestant on the next series. Maybe Marco can teach him to make humble pie.

Yes, quite fun. Apparently people dislike him because he didn't ask for attention during the X-factor auditions (?) and during a semi final Ansell was cheeky to Simon Cowell. They are right of course, I have never forgottten that conversation between a bloke that is on every talent show on TV and a non-descript short arse little shit who I have not seen on anything other than Celebrity Come Dine With Me since X-Factor. I just can't forgive him, it keeps me awake at night.

I'm in two minds about the whole JA affair. Nick dealt with it appallingly and JA came across as a bit of a t**t.

I did think it was hilarious when he went up to Marco and looked so scared whenever Nick (who obviously was deliberately trying to earwig) appeared.

JA was loving the limelight but obviously misunderstood what "cooked through"meant and did go for an alternative to the rare so he did have a point.

Hmm I love Nick but do think maybe he shouldn't have reacted the way he did - also, didn't he take the other people on the table's plates away (showing Nick was in full paddy mode)- did they get new meals too?

I thought some of us on here were a bit sad, but that lot take the biscuit. They're besotted with the guy. Funny that quite a few of them have come over here to see what the 'real' world is saying about him

Years ago, my sister had her hen night dinner in one of his restaurants. I think it was Titanic. Let me preface this by saying we weren't the typical rowdy hen night; both my sister and all her friends are professional types and we were all very well-behaved.

The night got off to a bad start when the waiter spilt one of the trays containing our first round of cocktails down my sister. She was very gracious and laughed it off despite it going all over her beautiful designer coat. And someone working there agreed that the whole round of cocktails would be on the house.

At the end of the night, when we came to settle up, it was clear we'd been charged for the drinks. My sister very reasonably queried this with the maitre d who refused to deduct it. My sister is very assertive but also very polite, and she pushed for the original promise to be honoured.

We were then asked to leave. All of us. Let me repeat, my sister wasn't arsey with them, and we weren't a bunch of cackling hen nighters, but a well behaved bunch of women who'd spent hundreds of pounds in there. It was pretty unbelievable and without doubt in my top 3 most shocking restaurant experiences.

And the food wasn't worth it either.

If you think they're bad, Daniel O'Donnell's are worse. About 50 of them were staying in a hotel we were in one night. Very scary - it's like they've been brainwashed

I don't know if he was there that night. It was years and years ago and a Saturday night so if it hadn't been open long, I guess there's a possibility he was.

When an establishment is THE place to eat, I suppose they can afford to treat nobodies like us less than well. Even if all 15 of us had gone and told everyone we knew not to eat there, there'd still have been an endless supply of diners.
