I am new to the bluray technology, but on recomendation I bought the Panasonic DMP BD35 player which is connected directly to my 37" Samsung TV via HDMI.

When I play a bluray disc (any - I have about 30+ now) the pricture seems to flicker as though the signal is not getting to the TV and the TV itself flashes up HDMI2 (the source) until the movie is loaded - then when the movie is playing is flickers badly for about 5 seconds until it plays correctly.

Is this an HDMI lead problem, a Bluray player problem or something else?

I also have Sky HD and have no issues with this through HDMI.

I would appreciate a pointer in the right direction before I box up the player and take it back to the shop for a refund.

you could try switching off 'auto resolution ' for 1080 i or p or 720 and set it for whatever your telly can handle

both on player and tv

then see if it makes any difference

no updates for that player but you could look at samsung for the telly ??

UPDATE

panny update and check your firmware first incase you got it !!

I was on 1.3 firmware, will update to 1.4 and see if that fixes any of the issues.

Have you tried connecting Bd35 to another Hdmi source Hdmi 2 on Samsung is normally suited to PC connection. I have Have both Panny BD 35 & Samsung LCD TV and connected to Hdmi 3 get no issues. Hope this may help.

Thanks WillWord - HDMI3 is on the side of the set. Nothing in the instructions about HDMI2 being dedicated for PC use.

I have also updated the firmware to 1.4 now and touchwood it played back last night without any flashing.
