I went to see them live this evening. They were to put it simply, AMAZING! Performed The Wall in its entirety and it was fantastic. The visuals and lighting effects were awesome and inspiring. The music was played to perfection and the singing was spot on too.

Saw these guys in the early 90s in a small theatre and they were great, I was very impressed that they played all of Dogs... I was tempted to check out their Wall tour but I was staggered by the ticket price. You can see Waters for that price!!! Cheeky bastards, they're only a bloody tribute band, is that what it's come to these days, paying as much to see the tribute as the real thing? Lunacy (on the grass).

Do they ever play any Syd era stuff, or do they tend to stick with the classics?

I paid £26.50 and £2.50 of that was for the booking fee and postage. So is £24 to steep for you? I can't say this for myself as I have never seen the real Pink Floyd live. But I have been reliably informed that Aussie Floyd are as good live (if not better) than the real thing. Apparently have the full support of David Gilmour as well.

I know what I seen blew me away and they were well worth the ticket price, which I personally thought was reasonable.

Well, at the show I watched they played "The Wall" in its entirety and I recognised selected songs off "DOTM" and "Wish You Were Here" too. So based on that it's just the classics.

Dave Gilmour recently got married and they provided the entertainment. Also they use the lighting equipment used by pink floyd as well

I feel a bit daft now. The £26.50 did not include booking fee/postage. I still think thats a very reasonable ticket price though.

You wouldn't say it was wrong if you saw them for yourself.

Yeah well said. Someone even said on this thread they are arguably "better" live than Floyd. How can seeing a tribute band be "better" than seeing the real thing? They may be technically better but it's still glorified karaoke. 26 quid lmao.

I'm sure you would change your stuck up opinion if you seen Australian Pink Floyd for yourself. To call it "glorified karaoke" is to do them a massive disrespect they are incredible performers.

I have seen them. If you'd bothered reading my original post you would have noticed that, Mr Angry. But that was back in the early 90s when you paid a few quid to see a tribute band, which is only fair. If you want to throw away 30 quid to see a karaoke version of Floyd and convince yourself it's "better" than seeing the real Floyd then more power to you

Ok I hold my hands up, I clearly lept on you saying the ticket price for the current Wall tour was too much, without taking in that you said you had seen them yourself.

But I really don't understand why you think they are not worth the money they are charging now, I paid £26.50 for my ticket by the way. Maybe when you watched them they were more Karaoke perhaps? All I know is that I would not describe what I watched as karaoke, far from it. They were worth every penny. But just because their a tribute band you think they should have ridiculously cheap ticket prices?

Oh and you too should read things properly, see post #6

I said:

It's not my opinion that Aussie Floyd are as good as or better than the real thing because having never seen Pink Floyd live I could not possibly make that judgement. It was a work mate of mine who has seen Pink Floyd that gave the opinion that Aussie Floyd are as good as the real thing. Actually, we spoke to a few others at the concert who had also seen the "real" Floyd and shared the same opinion.

I'm not trying to convince myself that they are better than the real thing, I will never get to see the real thing now, no one will. So I take the next best thing, which just happens to be Australian Pink Floyd, who are ****ing brilliant. Worth £26.50 or more? Yes sir, absolutely.

I've seen them six times now, including The wall last week. I'm not too bothered about tribute bands, but this lot are at a different level to the rest.

They have 10 members of the band, a brilliant sound system, and superb effects.

On top of that they play the music perfectly. It's not Pink Floyd, and that is the only negative. However, it is about the only way to hear Pink Floyd music played live at this quality.

It is easy to slag them off, but I defy any Pink Floyd fan to see them, and then call them glorified karaoke.

They are quite simply superb, and worth every penny of the admission price.

They do on most tours. This one is a special 30th anniversary of The Wall, so it is mainly that, and what a fantastic chance to see that album performed in its entirety.

The encore consists of about five other classics this time round.

There are a couple of DVDs available of them. Well worth a look.

A friend of mine saw them back then, and said they were okay. I've seen them over the last five years, and told him how good they were, and he didn't believe me when I said the real thing cant sound much better.

Anyway, he came with me last year, and couldn't believe what he'd seen. He said they bore no resemblance to the early days, and was in full agreement with me.

They started at about 8.00pm when I saw them last week, and it was about 10.50pm when they finished. There is about a 20 minute break in the middle.
