Recovering recordings from dead unfinalised DVDs
Got a couple of unfinalised RW+ DL DVDs that have a few recordings on them made on a Sony DVD/HD recorder, which the recorder now says are unreadable. They were cheap unbranded blanks, so I suspect there may be blemishes in the recording surface. Windows won't have anything to do with them, but Nero can at least see that there is a one track one session on there.
Any suggestions on how I can recover any undamaged recordings from the disks please? |

If Nero can "see" there is something on the disc, then you should be able to create a disc image (or ISO file) on your hard disk, then use a disc mount app to load that file as a virtual DVD drive.
This page has some info on mounting CD/DVD image files:- http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/ |

Generally finalisation can only take place in the drive that originally wrote to the disc, there are some exceptions but not many.
I have had good success with un-finalised and un-readable DVD's using IsoBuster: http://www.isobuster.com/ To get the full operation of recovering files you will need to purchase it but it is relatively inexpensive if you have a good use for it. |
