I doubt Marco would have fired Jodi if.....

Naomi ( and Anthea ) did not speak up & put Marco in his place.

Marco had already started bigging up & selling Jodi to the team as a sort of "misunderstood plonker" WHEN Naomi stopped him carrying on like a demented mentor.

Team should give Naomi a gold medal so to speak for getting that volatile, trouble maker, moron finally out of their sight.

Could not agree more.

I was really impressed with Naomi, she put forward a really considered point of view. It must have taken some guts to stand up and do that to Marco.

Also nice to see Anthea, back her up as well.

Call me cynical if you like but I would put money on either Niomi or Anthea being the next to get the boot

I don't think it will be Niomi. I would very much like it to be Anthea (or Grant) but, since Anthea was left to last with Jody last night, it probably won't be her, as there would be no suspense. Hoping for the Madeleyalike Grant, then.

I don't think he'll fire Naomi next because that would look like spitefulness and that's exactly what it would be. It shouldn't be about who Marco is connecting with personally or recognising character traits from himself when he was young - it's about the good of the team and Jody just was not good for the team, a fact Marco DID acknowledge. Jody just doesn't seem to be a team player which is no good at all in a restaurant kitchen.

Spot on, OP. He was building the team up for him to fire Anthea, or why even mention Jodie's suspected childhood pain?

Spot on post. I completely agree. She was very strong to insist on having her say. I think Ade spoke up too didn't he? though Naomi led the way absolutely. Marco just couldn't get his way. Goodie
