Quick Question regarding Five
Hi!
Does Five have a Programme Guide (EPG)? The reason I ask is I have a FTA receiver and Five doesn't even have now or next, is it the same on the Humax HDR? Thanks in advance, Ferdie. PS. Is the Humax PVR still worth buying with all the nags and issues it has. |

Partly because Humax have now spent many months working on correcting teething problems. (At least we hope tat's what they've been doing. ), and partly because although there are a lot of petty niggles, the core functionality works so well that they don't detract from the usefulness of the device.

The FTA versions do NOT have a DVB standard EPG "Now and next". The NDS (FSFS) versions do have a DVB "Now and next" as well as a Sky EPG so with a Dragon CAM and a FSFS card I can see the "now and next" on my Technomate.

Many thanks!
I've been missing so many programmes due to the arrival of my daughter - bless! : ) - so I desperately need the Humax Freesat+!!! Thanks again! |

My Sky Dogibox hasn't got "now and next" on Freesat's Five, is that normal? Or is it something to do with Freesat's info transponder. By the way, I get "Brit Shorts" which is on the same transponder so it's not signal problems.
Can anyone shed some light? Thanks in advance! Ferdie |

Brit Shorts is definitely not on the same transponder as Five, it's on the same transponder as ITV HD...? You won't get any EPG data for Freesat's Five with a Sky box as it uses a different system.
I was a bit worried as I'm thinking of buying a Freesat PVR soon...being in Madeira, Portugal aka fringe area, I thought I couldn't get the EPG which is useless for a PVR! Thanks for your help! |

I had Sky+ box up until Christmas and paying £10 a month to use the recording facillities. Not only is the Foxsat a far better box, it's £10 a month saved too. So yes, get one you wont be disappointed, especially when the software upgrades eventually come through. |
