You can't, it's encrypted. You can only play them back on your HDR.

When you archive HD files from the Humax, the files are encrypted so there's 3 methods I can think of to to actually get HD on your PC:

1. Put a sat card in your PC and record directly to your hard disk.
2. Download the HD file from the interweb -
3. NEW - Download from HD file from BBC iPlayer and remove DRM -

I guess I could add another:

4. Put a 2TB drive in the Humax and don't archive for now -

HTH

Or if you want a specific programme in HD then record it in non-freesat mode. It won't be encrypted then and you can play it on your PC.

Has anyone tried anything above a 1TB in the HDR yet?

Isn't it just a waste of time having this functionality when you cant play it anywhere else. I am pretty disappointed and it is just adding to the the list of things that are clumsy with this box.

Did you expect anything else with DRM.

Isn't it actually a BBC problem in that they cannot yet flip the encryption on a programme by programme basis, so all programmes regardless of the rights-holder decsion on DRM are encrypted.

Exactly, DRM benefits no one
