For some reason this doesn't bode well with me...

I can't help but think that the ill-timed release will somehow tarnish it's appeal.

Granted, the song DOES deserve airplay and a wider audience...but I always thought of it as a crackin' wee easter egg to be 'experienced' by those lucky pup's who happen to discover Donnie Darko.

Yup, I'm being a pompous elitist...but it's just got that 'to be found' feeling IMO.

It's been two years since I first first heard the track...and I now prefer the Tears For Fears version by many a mile...it's no Head Over Heel's but it's still remarkable all the same.

They had to release it, otherwise that miserable wailer from Fame Academy was going to release her blatant copy and steal all the thunder.

Ya got a point there Chief.

I can't tolerate the angsty wee rug-muncher and her 'schtick'...Fortunately, I've yet to hear her take on the tune.

What's with the hiccupy thing 'tween words? Irks me no end. Do my lobes play tricks on me or does she have trouble holding the simplest and shortest of notes?

"A-an I fi-nd it kin-a fun-ny...a-an a fi-nd it kin-a sa-ad..."

Rawk on.

I'd rather see the Osymyso remix released.

It's about time Tears for Fears got the recognition they have been denied for so long. This cover is a compliment to their fantastic song.

More proof that the 80s weren't that bad.

Tears for fears had plenty of recognition did they not?

Not from the critics, I don't think.

They were very popular and shifted a lot of records at the time, but like a lot of artists from that decade have had to endure quite a bit of sniffiness from so-called music critics since then.

Maybe, i don't know about that. A recently talked about band on here who certainly never got the recognition they deserved were Talk Talk, who would have been happy with half of what TFF got.

I started that Talk Talk thread, absolutely agree that they did some very good stuff. Having said that, I seem to recall Talk Talk's "Colour of Spring" album getting an impressive 4 stars out of 5 rating by Q Magazine - not many 80s artists get that kind of credit from Q.

Talk Talk could even be called the Radiohead of the 80s.

The vocal reminds me of Michael Stipe .

No need to insult Mr Jules quite so much,
