True Lies timing
Set a timer for True Lies off ITV HD at the weekend, recording is fine except that although it starts at exactly the right time (ok three seconds of itvhd "service unavailable" before the Universal logo) - it's missed the end of the film! Arnie arrives at the city but is still asking for directions when it cuts off.
Did ITV fluff the EPG info? Or show more adverts than they were planning to, or what? |

Now, I am confused. I thought I would record this to see a film in HD, so I selected the film in the EPG, only to find that it didn't give me a choice of SD or HD. I checked the football, and that was still giving me a choice, so the EPG info was working. Assuming that ITV had yet again postponed the HD broadcast I cancelled the recording. Now it turns out that it was broadcast. Did you get to select HD by using the EPG ?

Yes, just chose the program from the EPG and it asked whether to record the SD or HD version. I actually set it about six days out, then cancelled it and set it again a couple of days later because the box had done a channel scan and someone suggested on here that that might cause itv hd problems.

My box failed to offer the HD version of true lies for the week run-up and was curious to find out whether itv had applied the flag for it on the saturday morning. It was at this point that I became aware of the problem of the EPG not updating as I reported in the thread I started. It seems this may be the reason some people got the HD option and some didn't.

Probably an ITV regional thing, we've seen this before. I'm on ITV London on 103. The EPG here had no HD icon, and only offered to "Record", no HD/SD "choice"; same on 977 ITV London Audio Decription. However, it was broadcast in HD on these channels, accessible Live via the Red Button. So, ITV London EPG was screwed.
