Normally someone would say 'my wife' when talking to people who don't know his wife but, when addressing people who know his wife by name, would use her name. Not to do so seems to be making some kind of point.

Some women like to be called my wife. I'm pretty certain in how Anthea responded to Jodi that if she had issue with it she would let him know. I'm just to the time in my life where however un PC it is some women do like a protector and that's just how some relationships go so prefer to be independent and that's their right too. I don't feel there's no sexism to it just different approaches to relationships. Although if it's more issue about who is as a person I can see that outlook.

As previously said he uses it as an ownership thing. He's insecure in the relationship or he wouldn't have to keep doing saying it.

My hubby often refers to me as his wife which is what i am and i often refer to him as my husband nothing wrong with it.

No not at all my hubby oftens calls me it and he certainly isnt insecure about us two if he wants to call Anthea his wife which is what she is i dont have a problem with it.
