Definately up there as one of the most cringeworthy pieces of TV ever. What a complete prat Grant is. Anyone would think he was off to Afghanistan for a six month tour. If I was a squaddie's wife left watching that I would be laughing my head off. Being seperated for a few days - just pathetic.

How did Marco keep a straight face or is he as barking mad too.

Great TV

Another laugh out loud moment for me. Knowing MPW's reputation with the ladies I couldn't help thinking it would be "don't worry son I'll take care of her alright", wink wink!!!

What a berk - if I'd heard about "my wife" one more time.................

At least it gives us a chuckle in the evenings!

Just what I thought, I so wanted MPW to say "no worries son, she's in safe hands here I know how to handle the birds"

What a pratt Grant is, complete plonker, cringeworthy TV moment of 2009 so far

What a fool of a man! Was he being sent out to Bosnia or Afghanistan? Did I miss something? He was throen off ( and not brfore time) a reality show for which he was paid. His frightful wife made such a fuss it was toe curling. Let's hope she soon follows him

I thought it was really sweet what Grant said to Marco i know my husband would of done just the same if we had been in Hells Kitchen and vice versa i dont see anything wrong with it like i said i think its sweet.

I thought it was a sweet thing to do, he cares about Anthea, wants to be there to protect her and be there for her and he just wants someone to look out for her.

It made me feel uncomfortable. I really think Grant is very domineering towards Anthea in 'real life' and so she probably feels she cant cope without him by her side. I think he has made me feel that way.

Thats my impression anyway - which could be a lot of old ballony.

Send in Peter Powell.

He's more of a celeb. than Grant ever will be.

He's not been seen in the public eye longer than Lord Lucan, Shergar and Richey Edwards from the Manic Street Preachers combined!

I really must be on too many drugs atm. Just listened to Grant on This Morning (I'm blaming the drugs for having that on, too) and up to the point when he said he wanted Anthea to win, he sounded a lot less like a prat than I expected.

It was only brief, but Phillip did tell him that when it was screened, the whole of the nation joined together...and laughed. He took it well. Way better actor than Jodie. He had that sort of charming composure that only very, very evil businessmen can have. Ah - I have my sense of perspective back again.

She's nearly seventy, though. When you're nearly seventy, anyone less than 30 is a child. Especially the ones who behave like children.

As for "You have my word as a man"
Good God.
Marco Pierre White and Grant Bovey haven't exactly got stellar records when it comes to looking after their own wives, let alone looking after some other sod's.

*scratches head*

I thought he was 23?

It says 23 on the ITV Hell Kitchen profile page.

And he's a dad? Blimey. Still acts like a spoilt kid himself.

I'm possibly the only person that doesn't know but WHO IS Grant Bovey, apart from being Anthea Turner's husband; what is his celebrity status???

Thats it. Anthea Turners husband-he isn't a celebrity at all. Became famous for being a love rat really. He was a married man with children when his affair with Anthea hit the press.
Think he's in the property business, although I'm sure I heard he's not doing very well at the moment.
