I'd do more than ignore my hubby if I'd heard him beg Marco 'to take care of my wife' as if I was incapable of even breathing without him (i.e.hubby) by my side. Especially if I was in a kitchen with a sharp knife handy.

Me too, I think he was just wanting someone to be there to protect her, Grant seems very protective and I think that is a nice quality.
