LOL I was just about to post that. I always leave the chocolate ones till last, and even though they're ok, they're not a patch on the others.

Far too fattening! Odd ingredients in them too. What are di and tri glycerides?

They just remind me of kids parties growing up. Bought some recently, and the fondant was just too sweet and chemically for me now. Still ate the whole pack though.

Yeah Party Rings are amazing, along with Iced Gems and Animal Biscuits. Mind you, I bought some Animal Biscuits the other day and they seemed about half the size they used to be. Still damn tasty though...

M&S used to do really nice French Fancies but a couple of years ago they changed them - they made the fancies much smaller and put 8 in a box instead of 6. The icing was completely different and they were much more similar to the Mr Kipling variety which I don't like so much.

The original M&S french fancies which i loved had only yellow and pink ones in the box (no chocolate icing ones) and the icing was lovely and gooey and soft, and the little buttercream bit was gorgeous. I don't know why they changed them

The giant ones are brilliant birthday cakes, you can get them from Asda and Morrisons, oh so very sweet but fab!

Basically, they're both names for types of fat. Such things are used in commercial baking as emulsifiers and functional additives to make the cake stand up properly and hold together.
But yep, they're fats. Which might be why you think the cakes are fattening.

But nothing is fattening, by itself.
It all depends on the sum total of all that you eat and drink over the course of the day/week/month. I see on the website that each of those cakes has 105 calories and 2.9g of fat. One of them every so often wouldn't make Keira Knightly fat, never mind the rest of us.

we had a massive cake stand with 100's of these on it to go with the pimms/wine greeting drinks at our wedding reception
