Terrible decision to get rid of angus deayton
And replace him with claudia (no personality) winkleman, and marco comes accross as too false and as if he reads a script every night and what he says isnt what he really thinks.

Its not the same clever show it was when ramsey was in charge, and it was more food first and celebrity second.
Now its totally all about his ego and less about them learning to cook.

Pierre white maybe the best chef and most decorated out of himself and gordon ramsey, but ramsey makes better television and without him this show just isnt the same

As for tonight Bruce has gone, and I think a lot of his frustration was based on the fact he was overlooked for running the pass.
The guy was great on the show and very dependable marco was constantly praising him on his hard work.
So seeing his wife tonight and being overlooked for running the pass may have been the ultimate factors in him going.

The only thing now that MAY prove entertaining is the fact the workhorse has left the kitchen and now they are going to be getting stressed & upset and that could make good television.

Marcos Ego went into overdrive.
If you notice on the kitchen front people are sticking to the same stations apart from one of two changes..so marco clearly has laid the law down he wants as much order in the kitchen as possible.
the cooking side has been put on the backburner its all centered around Marco and tbh his ego does get boring after a week.
Linda evans is everything I thought she would be i loved her in Dynasty and tbh im only watching because of her.
fully agree about Angus...that was the charm they hated each other
tend to suspect the producers know its become a marco love in.

I like linda too, and ade also its out of those two for me
Do you think angus was fired after marco asked producers??
I mean we cant have a guy being funny, clever and totally outdoing marco and his ego can we??
Thats why I dont hold out much hope for ade im afraid, marco doesnt want someone upstaging him on his own stage

apparently marco did the 'its him or me'..im sure thats the story i read on DS a while back when they said angus wasnt coming back.
I just find marco taking himself so serious this time last time he was just a nasty bloke but this time its like he created a clinic curing Disease.
Ive noticed claudia is leaving him alone now im sure she was told an impression of a puppy waiting for a pat on the head wasnt the style they were looking for in a primetime TV show.
Squealing when marco smiled...*shudders*

lmao at your comment " clinic curing disease lol, it does come accross like that doesnt it???
The almost robotic way he delivers EACH....AND....EVERY....WORD
And then he came out with a stunning comment tonight.
Shocked me to my core

Marco: " after service one of you will be sacked"
Wow I was speachless

I bet on the QT they are gutted whats happened though
the state ITV are in they really needed the show to work again its been up against some heavy hitters at BBC1.
IMO I dont think if they do another series marco will return..

i did prefer rmsay im bias but it was more about how they cooked back then

gordon sent loads of stuff bback that wasnt done properly i dont even think thecelebs do half the stuff theyre supposedly coolking

tim and matt seem to be at all the stations with other chef running around

when ramsay was doing it hardly anyone got help and angela hartnett used to scream at them for doing it wrong

If I was them I would go grovelling to angus to return and then hop on a plane and drag ramsey out of those american kitchens and put him back in charge.

Then we might have a show again

I have been very dissappointed with this series, and marco just isnt anywhere near as entertaining as gordon.
As for the celebs cooking I agree with you, that we see more of the experienced chefs doing more this year than has ever been done.
They have to change the show and get rid of dead wood (ahem cough claudia)
And possibly marco as well and give it a much needed revamp, split the kitchen again into two teams red and blue and start fresh
Maybe if they cant get angus back they should go for someone like justin lee collins maybe, someone with that unpredictablility to liven it up.

You are spot on when you say it's a different show, and what a coincidence you should post this today! I knew I'd watched it before, but couldn't really remember watching it before or who was on it. It was just tonight that I realised it used to be Angus presenting it.

It really did seem to be a different show then. I think Angus upset someone though, didn't he?

I like Claudia, but I really did prefer Angus (sorry Claudia - your fringe was a bit more bearable tonight )

Is that because Marco doesn't swear?

I prefer Marco by a million miles, I can't even bear to watch Gordon Ramsay for 5 minutes! I just think he's an egocentric t*ss&r. Marco's pretty egocentric, but he's quite nice with it and seriously more sexy than Gordon Ramsay, except in the occasional shots where he (Marco) looks a bit like Mick Hucknel .

Gordon Ramsey - Angus Deaton was the best series and will probably never be beaten.

However S2 and S3 were pretty crap. Angus didn't have much to work with.

I think this is a big improvement. Marco and Claudia are an interesting combination and I think the show as a whole has improved for the better.

I read somewhere that Marco said that it was either him or me in regards to Angus because of a quip that Angus made about Marco's name.......................Its a shame because Angus was one of the reasons the show worked, Claudia is a "Davina McCall lite" for me, unfunny and struggles to read an autocue

Marco's sermons from the mount every night are beyond tedious now

im glad someone has brought this up this series has been utter crap no cooking no personality no celebs (real celebs)

it has nothing which as i have said i liked the last hells kitchen although i think ramsay's was by far the best but marco's was watchable

but this one has been very poor

This is the first one ive watched since Gordan Ramsay did it years ago.
I loved Gordan and we got to see alot more cooking and not much of the celebs personalities-which imo was better.
I really like Marco though and dont think this is down to him.....its too staged now, as are all the ´reality´shows these days.

I watched the first series, never watched the second (it just didn't appeal), dipped in and out of the third but I've been gripped this year

They've obviously changed the format to make it more like Big Brother USA with cooking but I think it has worked. I also think Claudia had a bad start but shes really got to grips with it now and shes more herself in the role. I much prefer her to Angus.

I realised today how dull this years show is because there is no drama. None. Jody was perhaps the only drama we had this year. It's just so very dull. Every ad break is "And now the sacking". It's all they can talk about.

Perhaps thats because of the smaller group.. or the celeb selection. I'm not sure. But there isn't the same drama as previous years.

I used to love it but cannot bear to watch it now as it seems to be so scripted and really meaningless.

I think Reality Tv has nearly had its day now.

I'm disappointed that the cooking has been secondary this series.

I don't like that the cookery lessons have been replaced with daily challenges whereby the contestants are left to their own devices.

And there hasn't been enough rotation of sections in the kitchen during service.

The whole programme has lost its purpose. The show was about amateur cooks getting meals out of the kitchen to feed the diners.

Now the show is about Marco and the Celebs with the resturant , kitchen and dinners just being a backdrop to them all playing up to the cameras.

The opinion I get is that most people dont like this new format & it does not work.

The only people that like it are the celeb obscessed ones although you are pushing it to say any of them are celebs

I agree it's more about personality and attitude, than cooking but I prefer it, I prefer Marco over Gordon.
This year from what I've seen less food has been wasted Gordon chucked food in the bin for no real reason other than his anger and to show who was boss.
He had to shut the kitchen down many times.
My issue is we haven't seen much teaching and cooking, and with no ITV2 show we see little prep time and after service.
I do like the little cooking clips on the ITV site

More about psychology.

I thought that too, in the first series with effing Gordon the contestants really did learn how to cook, this one has been more like an Apprentice type thing with the challenges and then Marco pontificating in his 'Kung-Fu master style' and then 'sacking' people. It's lost really lost it's impact.
