Apart from appearing on Grandstand, Bargain Hunt, Confessions of an Estate Agent, The Weakest Link, was one of the guests who tells the latest casualty what they did wrong on The Apprentice You're Fired!, presents Property Prophets on UKTV Style and writes for Start Your Business magazine and The Daily Mail, plus has written a book (The Apprentice Property Master) - not much.

Oh, and he starred in the movie Fight Back - which hasn't yet been released.

My opinions of the people on the Empire team (Kate, Yasmina, Debra, James, Ben) went up, whereas my opinions of the people on the Ignite team (Phillip, Noorul, Mona, Howard, Lorraine) went down.

Clearly the Philip fans are having difficulty admitting it but nothing, nothing could have been crapper than Pantsman. (See what I did there )

Lorraine's idea could easily have been adapted to fit the brief. Seriously, a few minutes of brainstorming in the group was all it would have taken.

I agree Lorraine's idea could have been made into something workable - IF her team had spent about 10 more minutes brainstorming

I don't even particularly like Lorraine but I would struggle to support such an embarrassing idea. Pitching 'Pantsman' to a roomful of people - oh my god!

I was just about to say actually, it was cringeworthy and poor old Marge had to put her head in her hands. Although I don't blame Kate for that, I don't think she was given a lot to work with.
People keep giving Mona stick for her presentation which a) nobody else stepped up to ie. Kimberly the marketing expert and Phil the 'brains' of the concept b) given the concept was so s***, the presentation was always going to be crap, you can't polish a turd c) she rehearsed the p'tation with all the other candidates present and we saw her taking note of Kim's criticisms so it's obvious it was reviewed at least by the PM who should've been able to edit it

This is very true.

I hope Mona gets to the interviews because I really hate the way people seem to have taken a dislike to her for no real reason (they may have legitimate reasons after the 'homophobic' incident).

You just know that if Philip, Kate, Debora or Yasmina had made identical mistakes to hers there would have been people bending over backwards to justify it or shift the blame to others.

Much the same, but to a lesser extent, goes for Howard.

Noorul get hammered as well, of course.

And although James seems to stay very much under the radar very few people are having a go at him.

I'm sure the fact that of of the three who seem to attract a lot of opprobrium for very little, one is gay and two are non-white has nothing whatever to do with it.

I thought Kate was okay as a team leader but she had a team full of the best candidates and they seem to get on. I don't think she would have been so successful managing the other team which apart from Philip is full of no-hopers.

There is lots of reasons to dislike Mona. She was a bad PM, she can't present (regardless of what the product was, she was terrible - 'The box is green' WTF?), her negotion techniques not very good, was overly dramatic in the boardroom, and she doesnt seem to do an awful lot during the tasks.

Nothing to do with her race. I just don't think she is very good.

And I dont agree with your assessment at all, Philip and Debra do get criticised often.

Interesting that you should say 'dislike'. And then list a set of reasons that might justify a poor assesment of her as a candidate but really don't explain why anyone would dislike her.

I didn't say they don't get criticised. I said there would be people bending over backwards to excuse their performances. As indeed there have been for things they have done wrong.

And are any of the things she's done as bad as Phil's terrible idea, Ben's terrible idea, Yasmina messing up on the soap task, Debra messing up on the first task...Like Tern said, it seems there's a bit of double standards. Safe to say you just don't like the woman.

I think Mona is a poor candidate but then I don't think much of the others either!!

She was extremely rude to the car dealership man in the first task, so much so that I felt quite angry about it

Agreed. I thought Mona was promising at the start, but I've revised my opinion. She's cocked up a lot and hasn't contributed anything of note.

There are two really huge issues with Mona. She can barely string a coherent sentence together and her manner with clients is atrocious. Though at least she's done something, which is more than I can say for Noorul.

I have to admit that that is the one real demerit that I can see.

It was clear that (as with the catering task) they had set the companies up to at least give the teams a chance as if anyone had really spoken to a potential client like that they'd have been shown the door very quickly.

OTOH, it was the first task and there was a great deal of pressure - especailly for the project managers on that initial task - so I was prepared to give her another chance.

Since then she's been given a low profile edit but, unlike others that have had that treatment, she always seems to be very actively buzzing around in the background. She just doesn't get into the narration.

Time will tell.

Kimberly was project leader so shouldn't have been expected to present as well. Especially not with the such short notice Mona tried to give her. Philip could have done it, but since he'd already contributed a lot I think it's fair Mona should have to do something.

Actually we see the opposite: we see her rejecting constructive criticism from the PM because of Kimberly's body language.

Mona is rubbish. She was a poor leader in the first task and deserved to get fired back then. We've seen very little good from her, and a lot of bad. Her whole "Nooral doesn't look good" "Nooral is too short" "Nooral is the wrong colour" thing is what really put me off her.

The difference between her and people like Howard, Philip, Yasmina, Kate, Debra, Ben etc is that although those guys have made mistakes, they've also contributed a lot of positive stuff. Howard has a moment of talking sense in every episode, for example; eg when he told off Lorraine and Philip for their bickering. Mona just doesn't have anything positive going for her (other than her looks). The best defences of her seem to be blaming the editing.

Mona had guts in stepping up to be the PM on the first task. It's one of the things that saved her from getting fired.

Other than that I think she is the least competent female this year.
