I am not sure I'd want to be fed by Hells kitchen - a plate of 40 asparagus spears or fennel as a starter; tuna, veal or fish with mash or chips - this is about timings not cooking

The selection may not be large but restaurants have set menus. They don't have an indefinite amount of options.

I have found it really frustrating that people in the main have remained on the same station throughout - where's the learning there??? I also agree that it's become more about timing rather than an actual flair for cooking.

It's a real shame that Marco has apparently played to people's strengths and not really over-stretched anyone (accept on the pass occassionally and the nightmare potato station).

Maybe with Bruce gone and his obviously huge contribution in the kitchen no longer being there they might actually start doing other stations and being pushed further.

I hope so.

Also, the team element of previous years has been sadly missed - it's always good to have in-house competition rather than some bloody love-in.

It's such a shame for them if they wanted to learn cooking, not to mention boring for us. Unless you count learning how to kill an eel.

When Gordon Ramsey did it, they started with a basic menu and it gradually grew along with their ability. They had specials, including ones devised by the contestants themselves.

Less celebs doesn't help, but this year it does just seem to be about working hard and not flapping under pressure. And being subservient to Marco.

Hmm...
I don't think there will be a Hell's Kitchen recipe book this year!
