Techwood LCD37722HD Remote/Settings
I recently bought a Techwood 37" TV (LCD37722HD) on eBay. Whilst listed as remote/power cable included the TV turned up without either. I was able to get it working with a spare power cable but sorting out the lack of remote is harder. I have emailed the seller about the issue but want to start using the TV properly right away.
I have a One for All six device multifunction remote control (URC-7562), does anyone know if there is a code for this TV? The front panel controls actually seem pretty good, am able to get into the menu to set brightness, contrast and colour and change between input source and volume but at the moment the set is in zoom mode (called panoramic) so everything has the top and bottom cut off and it shows up all the MPEG artefacts on TV. There is a option to reset it to factory defaults, does anyone know if this would reset the aspect ratio too? Bit wary of using it though as I don't know what other settings it would change too, don't want to break it. |

I managed to solve this problem by connecting to the other Scart socket and luckily the HDMI and component inputs are also displaying perfectly. The seller promises they will get the remote out to me too so all good
Really stunning step up from my Sony 28 inch widescreen CRT. The quality is stunning on HD material like HD DVDs and X Box 360 games, the detail and impact is immense, colours look much stronger and more lifelike too. However, I notice there are a lot of picture settings on the TVs menu and I am not sure how to calibrate the TV for best picture quality? Is it possible to download a tester DVD to get the colour/contrast/brightness levels right? I think it looks great on it's default settings with HD material but am somewhat concerned that the default setting places the contrast at maximum, is it ok to use such a high setting or could this place too much strain on the backlight e.g. cause it to wear out quickly? I also notice that whilst HD material seems to like high contrast it does expose some picture artefacts in SD broadcasts (Sky+). I find reducing the contrast hides the imperfections in the Sky broadcasts but then it looks a bit dull on HD material. |
