Any recommendations on what would be good for downloading onto my Ipod for when working out at the gym?

Looking on I Tunes for ideas but i'm stuck as I normally listen to Sigur Ros, Bloc Party, Stone Roses etc.

Thanks

LOL, Stone Roses would not be my idea of Gym Music, you are right. I find dance/trance stuff the best, something repetitive with a fast beat. Then you can get in time with your music, which happens naturally anyway!

I like Human League, Dare CD best - it does depend on what the exercise is though!

Its mainly for listening to whilst I am doing my cardio as I find the music which played in the gym is on constant repeat so it gets boring.

If you're anything like me, the best is something you don't like or nothing at all. I've given up listening to music while exercising, it just distracts me as i end up concentrating on enjoying the song and screwing up my form or delaying between sets etc.

I usually listen to the local radio station, as they have a 'golden hour' thing while I'm there - and I prefer the older music....
Madonna - Confessions on a Dance Floor is another good one though.

I have a good cardio playlist which I tried to copy & paste for you but the format is odd so its not readable...

Anything by the likes of Darude, DJ Sammy, Alice Deejay, Basshunter... as someone else said anything with a good base works well, with a few variations on speed thrown in to allow for hill climbs etc

I laughed out loud reading that as I got a vision of someone on cross trainer trying to work out

Something fast, energetic and upbeat - my favourites at the moment are things like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Missy Elliot, MGMT, Pussycat Dolls etc.

I really like the songs All The Small Things and Baby Got Back to run to.

I've downloaded a couple of the Podrunner podcasts from itunes, you download them based on BPM which is constant throughout the podcast so it keeps you working at a steady pace.

"You're a Superstar" always inspired me on the rower.

I told my gym that if they ever subjected me to DJ Eric To55pot's version of the classic "Valerie", I would use my new-found muscles to break their music system.

I'm just digging out my old dance albums ready for the new year.

Decided I'm gonna start running again so I need something to keep me pushing. Only thing is, I like to dance to so I fear I'll end up like that woman out of the Freestylers video when I'm out in public
