I've not seen this with my HDR as it stays plugged in but on my HD if I unplug it and then plug back in it would go through what appeared to be a boot-up cycle but do nothing I would have to press the standby button to get it to properly boot. Have you tried that or anything else to resolve the problem?

Hi thanks for the advise, it will not respond to the remote or manual on button, it does not even say "boot" its just has a light blue huw to the front LCD display panel, when plugged in to the power.

not sure if this will work but switch the box off by the switch on the rear panel and wait 30 seconds or so then whilst holding down the standby button on the front panal flick the switch on the rear panel back on

I have got home today to find that my box is stuck in BOOT mode and despite having power it down at the back and left it off for several minutes when you turn the power back on it goes into BOOT mode and flashes the HUMAX start-up screen but then it just sits in BOOT mode with BOOT displayed on the screen.
Anyone any ideas.....?????? or is trash after only 5 months, I thought I would never say that as I have not had any problems despite having read about other people with lots of problems on here.

Just call up whoever you got it from, they'll replace it for free.

Problem solved.

Thanks for your reply, that was what I was thinking myself, I must admit if I can't get it to power up ok then I can't even do a Factory Reset, so a new box sounds the most likely.
