Do you really think Hayley will be back this year? I didn't think she was that popular in the last series.
She wasn't popular with the viewers but the Beeb doesn't tend to perceive things the same way the viewers do

I can't see her not returning- especially now that Camilla isn't doing anymore dancing on SCD

Put Madeley with Hayley- Let Erin win this year- she was mugged last year

I have no idea who they'd put Sharon with

» On the one hand, her partner can't be someone she'd walk all over: she's the novice and the pro needs to be in charge.

» On the other hand, put her with someone like Brendan and they'd end up fighting incessantly.

It's a no-win situation.

It'll be down to height- and Shazza is quite small- so I'd say Vincent

I feel your pain.

Sadly it might be that they'll think along the lines of giving her a rubbish partner this year.

That might actually work. He's a bit of a schmoozer so might just be able to establish a good working relationship with her. I'm not sure anyone else would manage.

Didn't they give Camilla a plum draw last year after she and Gethin were robbed of a place in the final

Shazza will probably get Vincent- she'd eat Darren for breakfast

I thought you were pleased Tom won? As it happens I agree Austin would have been a more credible winner, but it's hardly fair on the other pros if Erin keeps getting great celebrities until she finally wins, not when she's already had Colin and Austin.

On the subject of Hayley returning, Kristina said they are looking at getting in more US pros, so maybe the BBC will replace her. She barely made an impact on last series.

Don't get me wrong I was delighted Tom won- but Erin certainly deserved better than being booted out in the quarter finnals in favour of Lisa and Brendan

Yees....but it's all a bit batty if they are honestly thinking like that. After all who can say if it'd been left up to the public vote that Gethin would definitely have NOT have made it to the final? He had every chance. It's no good giving dancers good partners if they are going to leave it up to 4 people in the end as to who stays and who goes. Makes it completely arbitrary.

Anyway to stop myself banging on about thebloodydanceoff, yes Cam did get Tom and she finally won albeit by way/in spite of/or even because of the judge's scores. Good for her, and the public proved they had more good taste in the end judging by the showdance.

That showdance was the best I have seen

I would have been happier for Camilla if she'd won with Geth, because for me he was a far superior dancer and that was without any prior training. Tom's ballroom couldn't cut it and his Latin was excruciating. Ah, those faces.

Still, that showdance massively cheered a bleak Christmas.

As for la Osbourne, am already put off by series7.

I agree with you on that. It would be lovely if Erin won but, let's be fair, she had a realistic chance with Colin only she messed it up with the puppet dance.

I completely agree, it was fabulous

Although, I must admit that after the sheer awfulness of Lisa and Brendan's showdnce, anything would have been great!

She has also had Peter Schmeichel and Willie Thorne- so she has hardly been favoured

I agree with your second paragraph (and I've made the point before that the showdances justified the public and not the judges opinions on the contestants) but I don't think it's a given that Geth would have made the final if it hadn't been for the damned dirty dance off. Matt had a lot of public support too - some Gethnites forget that except as a stick for pointing out that Matt shouldn't have been forgiven for the meltdown (which I disagree with - much as I loved 'Tish I don't think her samba or argentine tango would have been up to much and she went at the right time).

That said as an Eraustin supporter last year I understand now why the Gethnites were so peed off - although at least as I said Matt had public support - the fact that Lisa got an undeserved 40 in the final and still went out first says it all about her fan base (i.e that it was negligible).

In fairness Scheichel's ballroom was good and Thorne's waltzing was too (although neither was exactly a contender especially poor Willie - lovely man that he was from the bloke's merengee it was obvious he was going to suck at the latin and he wasn't cute or charismatic enough to be keep in spite of sucking).

Trouble was the judges seemed to want Rachel to win- and beacuse she didn't have much in the way of public support they had to big up the person who was the least supoorted- In effect get rid of the public favourites

No, no, don't want to fall out with you and I do agree that it's not a given and I'm sure most people who were Gethin supporters would agree. What really really peed me off at the time is that we weren't given the chance to KNOW for sure. If Geth had gone out on the public vote I wouldn't have minded. Likewise with Austin. Of course Matt had a lot of public support. That was obvious throughout the series.

It's all been said about the fiasco last series, but it was a kind of poetic justice in the end that she got 80 and was out first.

Lisa should have got the boot against Cherie- the judges say it a dancing contest- but surely that is hypocisy when they were bigging her up. She was no where near as agood as what they were cracking her up to be

I have very few wishes on my list. I'd be perfectly happy if they would A, scrap the dance off. B, The judges zip it outside the studio. C, stop force feeding favourites down the viewers throats. Starting with that we might get back to a nice show again.

The dance off needs to go when it gets to the two dances per couple stage. I shouldn't say this but just imagine if there hadn't been a dance off- Rachel would have gone out very early- Lisa too. The judges would have been livid at that

As a compromise, ok, but I think the dance off created its own problem. It's BECAUSE of the hyped obsession avoiding that that you had such weird voting patterns which rarely happened in previous series but in the last one was every week. There was a foretaste of it in series5 but it culminated last year.

I can't prove it but I don't really think Rach would have gone out on the public vote.
