You can almost guarantee it as soon as we get outside someone’s house or in front of a road with loads of cars going he will plonk his bottom down and ‘do it’.... The most embarrassing, cringe worthy situations EVER and I am left standing there waiting and then cleaning it up often off someone’s wall or in front of some builders in a van having their lunch!!!!

It's only a few yards until my lot reach the fields, but you can guarantee one (usually Buffy) will poop before we get there. Bag it up proudly

My boy will tell me when he wants to go out, 1 mile to the village along country lanes with lots of long grass.

On the riverside walk, nice cut grass, he does his dump. Plastic bags used.

best poo one of ours ever did was when miss was a little "loose"
bus shelter full of people, about 15 foot away from that she squats - does the loudest, wettest fart you have ever heard, followed by a splat on the ground. it was almost projectile diarrhoea

Runny poos are the worst aren't they!!

I'm very lucky in that my female dog likes privacy to poo & gets herself into the densest undergrowth in the woods before she poos. It's great in one respect that there's no danger of anyone treading in it (or even seeing it) but it also makes it almost impossible to clear up. Provided that it's nowhere near a path, picnic spot & we're far over the Downs I tend to leave it. It will soon get washed away by rain.

My male dog, on the other hand, has no qualms about going wherever he happens to be. He tries to have a dump on a tussock of grass or somewhere quite prominant (presumably scent marking) so I always need poo bags for him.

As they both have plenty of bones in their diet I rarely get runny poos unless they've got a bit of an upset tum.

71p for 300 Asda nappy bags. Just the cheapy smartprice ones but they do the job and they smell quite nice. .

My dog loves to get his bum as high up as possible, so low walls and tree stumps are his favourite place. Failing that, he likes to go in the longest bits of grass he can find where it's a nightmare to clean up.

This thread reinforces why we're getting a kitten next week and not a puppy!!

Ah yes because digging your border or worse still a neighbour digging theirs and finding their hands covered in a nice big poo is better than picking up after a doggie.

That's quite an assumption you're making. Ours is going to be a house cat so that won't be an issue for us or our neighbours.

At least with a litter box, you don't have the embarrassing spectacle of having to clear up in front of onlookers which is after all the point the OP was making.

with the semi clear, other coloured ones, since miss is constantly a little less than solid, it just looks ghastly
and it tends to be a brightish orange colour a lot of the time, i don't like seeing it slowly oozing around in there

When he was very young, I took him with my up the road to meet a friend off the bus, he must have unknown to me had a upset tummy, because my goodness along the way passing cars and people walking in front and behind he went in a person’s doorway and did the most foulest, brightest, yuckiest load ever! I did not know where to look and no amount of bags was going to clean that lot!

The owner would have had a huge surprise if he opened his door to that soooo I knocked and asked if it would be okay to have some water to swill it away!!! He was elderly and very kind about it all! My bright red face must have said it all really. Dog wasn’t bothered!

Oh no, mine will refuse to go if you watch him, he is very shy and has to keep his dignity in that respect, but I cannot say I blame him, I would not want someone watching me either!

Yes, my dog always seems to do this. She just loves to do her business and try and walk off like she had nothing to do with it, while I struggle to pick it up and hold her at the same time.

Oh no, i didn't know dogs did loud farts but you can always tell a dog has done one as it must be quiet and smelly

I have two 17 year old house cats and they have two litter trays in the downstairs toilet, on the odd occasion I've gone in to clean them and found a pooh sitting on the toilet seat?????? or on the floor, or sometimes it has stuck too them so they come out of the tray with it, I guess it gives new meaning to the panto saying "It's behind you", my girls being long haired have had their bloomers snipped more that once over the years and have got over the indignity of it all.

This thread really brought memories back to years ago when I had my dogs, things we do for our pets!

My boys also like to drop their lunch on top of a small grassy knoll or mound. It's like the're proud of it and want it on display. Then they do the customary 'moon walk' upon completion lol.

He hates being watched when he does his business and even on his 2 mile walks he'd sooner wait 'til he got back home, rather than have the shame of doing it in public.

After 1 year of squatting like a big girls blouse, he's finally learned to cock his leg and has mastered the art of aiming his pee down the drain, so you can't see the evidence.

Small mercy that he doesn't try and crap down the drain! We have to use a coal shovel to get that up.
