Shola Ama, whatever happened to her?
risingstar

I wonder does anybody know whatever happened to Shola Ama?, that girl was the best thing to come out of the UK for a long time and that girl could sannnng, lol. She was signed up about the age of fifteen and went onto make her album "Much love" which went onto do very well, but after that she just seemed to disappear from public gaze.

I was thinking about her the other day when rifling through my record collection deciding what i should ask for a album for christmas and then i came across her ablum and played it and it just made me remember how great she was/is.

Does anyone know what has happened to her and if she is still recording or has she quit the music industry for good? I really don't think that girl was given the credit that she deserves.

I thought she was great too, the last tune i can remeber her doing was with Ms.Dynamite (who is simply the best by the way ) and that was called "Feels so good"

Oh that's great and i am going to look into that I have never heard anything from Ms Dynamite before so i will look out for her to, it would be great if you could reply to my thread about recommending me a album and let me know who you think is best.
I wish Shola would put another album out there, and if she did, i would buy it in a heartbeat.
Thank you for your help.

((hugs))

Shola Ama was not garage though, she was distinctly soul and rnb in my opinion. I would have never pegged as a garage singer at all.

Ok, i just mailed Shola Ama through her site, i found a link,
and mailed her at info@shola-ama.com and sent her the link to this site and thread.
I wonder if she will reply and let us know what she is up to.

Take care.

She was dropped by Warners. The last thing she done was a garage track which failed to chart.
