The firmware download page at www.toppy.org.uk/downloads/firmware.php has been given a makeover, with new recommended firmwares to download, clearer instructions, and a new downloader.

It should make it all much easier for people to update their Toppy - and if you haven't updated for a while, don't forget that it's essential to have a recent firmware to ensure that when you scan for channels, they're stored on the right numbers.

try retuning your box Virgiin 1 has gone 24 hours a day and has moved to a different MUX. Hopefully that should sort out your problem.

yep, i done rescan, but i have virgin1+1 on channel 20, and virgin1 nowhere to be seen...not even on an odd channel number.
it has thrown up two yesterday channels, which wasnt listed on freeview site...im assuming one is a +1 channel

Before you do a rescan, try deleting the existing Virgin1 channel. I had to do that before everything came right. It was the same trying to get Fiver and Five US into their correct slot.

Gosh Nigel, you've made me realise I haven't transferred all my Toppy stuff over from my old laptop. Oh heck.

But THANK YOU for the notification

When you rescan, the Toppy only finds new channels. It leaves existing stuff where it is. New channels can't be put in place if something old is still in that place.

Virgin1+1, for instance, is now in the slot that Virgin1 used to occupy, so if you haven't rescanned you suddenly find you are getting Virgin1+1 instead of Virgin1. So you need to delete everything that you know is moving before the rescan.

You *could* do a factory reset to clear all channels, then rescan, but that can change a few settings, lose timers, and just possibly lose some channels if they are not found due to reception probs at the time of the rescan. In other words, it could cause more trouble than you would want on a Bank Holiday weekend.

yep, when i used the list function, i eventually saw virgin1 was there at channel 1023, and several others way down there that wernt appearing on the epg. I'll just delete everything and do rescan....see if that works before doing any resets and new firmwares
