He has a steakhouse here in Dublin which has reasonable prices I believe...

How? That is for a whole meal, not a main course.

He is a great chef, and more hands-on than Ramsey who has spread himself too thinly.
Probably not 'with it' in the way that someone like Marcus Wareing is though. |

Is he a good chef? Hmmm, I think he's definitely a piss-taker. His first series of HK, all he did was pour Worcestershire saunce and Tabasco sauce over EVERYTHING. When the public lapped it up, he probably wondered why he'd been away for so long!

well it still proves your original comment was wrong though doesnt it.
My original quote was:- 'Sorry, where is this New York restaurant where the cheapest dish is $500? There is not a restaurant in the world that is that expensive.' You found one restaurant where it seems a whole meal may possibly be $500, not a single dish. But you can't prove it is actually $500 either. So I am still very much right.

I can back Deerd up here (just for a change!), I was watching Hubert Keller on Top Chef Masters the other night and they were talking about the $1000 burger he serves in his restaurant...
As for Marco P W's abilities...he is, undoubtedly, one of the greatest chefs ever. You don't become the youngest EVER chef to be awarded 3 Michelin stars, and the first in the UK by being anything other than gifted. No amount of hype or fashionableness would work either. Getting back to culinary planet earth for a minute his recipes are surprisingly accessible to us mere mortals, even back when he was cooking the really fancy stuff. I am on a forum which (lucky for me) is used by quite a few of the great culinary bods and the vast majority seem to admire him greatly, most of them seem to like him enormously as well. He's one of the few people I would really like to meet...I'd like to meet Anthony Bourdain as well, but my motivation would be slightly different *Mave pauses to wipe drool off her chin*

Lovely to see Marco leading the tributes to Keith Floyd, I know they had real respect for each other.

Hey Camino
![]() My Google Alerts for MPW tell me that he recently visited the Liverpool Food Festival, there are some articles about that. And yeah, his tribute to Floyd was nice. I've got those old videos saved where Marco cooks for Floyd back at Harvey's, they're classic! |

His surname is White, not Pierre-White. Pierre's his middle name, not part of his surname.
