ok so I am after rechargeable batteries for my camera. Just wondering which are the better AA type to get? I was lookin on argos and they have so many choices that I was like ok which would be best to get? my money brain thinks go with the cheapest but then it's like how reliable are the cheapest?

Then another side of wants to go with a trusted brand like energizer..... anyone able to help?

Try somewhere like SVP for batteries, compared to what the supermarkets charge for them they are amazingly cheap.

I bought my rechargeable ones here, GP Recyko.

The Gold Peak ReCyko use a similar chemistry to the Eneloops so would make a sensible choice but the Eneloops are on offer at 7dayshop.com at the minute http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/prod...ucts_id=105241 (P+P free as well)

BTW don't let the apparent low capacity put you off, 2000mAh may look low next to a battery offering 2700mAh but because Eneloops and ReCyko are low discharge it is only a matter of days before they have a higher internal capacity

The mAh is how much juice the battery can provide if you like and the higher it is the longer the runtime. You could buy some with a capacity of 2700mAh but given the high discharge rate of regular rechargeable they could be under the 2000mAh figure of the Sanyo and GP branded ones within a week which is no use if you need your camera there and then and you don't have time to charge them up.

I have a load of Energizers and they are flat in a couple of weeks, i have some Eneloops that were sat in an LED lamp for over a year, when i turned it on it ran so i left it on to see how long it would go for and it lasted over 10 hours before it went dim.

Sanyo developed the low discharge rechargeable so even though there is nothing wrong with the GP ones you know you are getting the original formula if nothing else.

Forget capacity.

Unless you are an avid photographer the low drain 'eneloop' type is best. They keep something like 80% charge after 12 non usage. Standard 2700mah hour ones would be nearly dead after a few weeks.

Uniross Hybrio(now renamed to 'Ready to Go' , Sanyo Eneloop and any other 2100mah low drain types are no doubt best.(think Panasonc have some available too)

edit - in fact there are now 20 brands!
Wiki also mentions the low resistance which theoretically improves capacity for high drain flash usage.

You can use any NiMH battery charger with all the slow discharge rechargeable batteries including the Sanyo Eneloop.
