Does anyone know if the Powermid remote control extenders will control a foxsat-hdr and a sky box and remove the need for Magic Eyes for the sky box.

I have a Powermid Dual Power setup, it has a egg-ish shaped IR receiver at the remote end and a slab-like IR transmitter at the STB end. When I had a Sky box it controlled it perfectly. Other bits of equipment have problems though - the Foxsat HDR only seems to work if the transmitter is directly in front of the box or just at a slight angle, and it also requires a double-click of each button for some reason! Don't know if it's just my setup though. My remote-controlled SCART switch box has the same issue. My Panasonic TV requires a prolonged button press and is also very directional.

There should be no reason why the Powermid should not be able to control anything, assuming it does its job of simply relaying whatever infra-red signal it receives.

PS I have my transmitter running off mains rather than battery and is right next to its power supply plug. It might be mains interference that's causing my trouble. Might be better if running the wired IR emitters and sticking them ont he boxes to be controlled.

Hi.

I've fitted an RF modulator to the scart socket of the HDR and every TV in the house can now enjoy Freesat and obviously Freesat recoreded programs.
I've got Powermid Transmitters in 3 rooms and the Powermid receiver aimed at the HDR in the lounge.
It's a great set up and works really well.

I can't say if the Powermid will also control the Skybox but I can't see why it wouldn't as our Powermid set up also controls the Blueray in the lounge from the other 3 rooms with the Powermid transmitter.

Yes the Powermid will control a sky box, I use one to control all my different satellite receivers, freeview PVR and sky box.
