Like Rob I only really came in for the third series so:

Colin Jackson - the best all rounder male
Austin Healey - the other great male all rounder
Mark Ramprakash - born with style as Arlene said
Matt Di Angelo - when he was good he was very very good - unfortunately turned into the little girl with the curl fully by nerves and filming commitments - a bit of shame but c'est la vie
Tom Chambers - not the best dancer (although very good) but the most enthusiastic and usually a joy to watch (I'm sorry but I really hated the camp Paso)

Gethin Jones - one of the most competent but the latin was mostly a bit workmanlike

Darren Gough - mainly on the strength of his ballroom and jive (which I actually like a lot more than the paso) and also because he is in a sense the spirit of Strictly in that the unlikeliest people have got latent talent

Bill Turnbull - again not the most talented but I loved his bravery and enthusiasm

James Martin - also good ballroom and rubbish latin - wasn't bad to look at and had a definate personality too

Spoony I think had real potential - gutted we didn't get to more of him

Retrospectively everything I saw of Aled Jones looked good so he probably deserves his place in the list of others.

Female

Alesha Dixon - because there was nothing she couldn't do which is unique amongst female celebs (except possibly for Jill and Denise whom I missed out by not watching series two closely enough)

Zoe Ball - I always feel she's overlooked and I felt that Len was desperately unfair when saying that he used to hold Jill up as the pinnacle of female achievement before Alesha came along - what about Zoe. She's only really lost pole because she couldn't really do the AT and a few of her dances were a bit meh.

Kelly Brook - she may have previous dance training and been a diva but she was always entertaining to watch

Louisa Lyton - she was patchy and I have trouble remembering some of the ballroom but her highlights outshone most female contestants

Gaby Logan - I really felt she had a lot more to show us and again a different style to a lot of the ladies

Carole Simile - a consistantly good dancer - I found her mostly more watchable than Emma B (although Emma's tango and samba were pretty awesome).

Rachel Stevens - the foxtrot was a bit boring but most of her dances were pretty good if not earth shattering (bar the rhumba)

Cherie Lunghi - a lot of the latin wasn't great but there was some good ballroom and a great rhumba

Claire King - not a brilliant dancer but I always found her entertaining - she had her moments - the rhumba had some difficult positions as well as an illegal lift

Jodie Kidd - again latin usually not great but I loved her ballroom and the enthiasasm and charm she brought to the proceedings - I think it's a great shame we didn't get to see her tango as she nailed the attitude with the paso and was good in hold. Damn the Christine sympathy vote - I could have predicted her tango was going to be rubbish.

What next? Best celeb dancers? most talented celeb dancers? luckiest male celebs, least talented female celebs. There need be no end to this stuff.
