Dont get it at all, everyone was going on about she was going to be the next big thing in 2009. Evidently not, she hasn't produced anything of note, and anything she has produced has been spectacularly mediocre.

And then the self absorbed cow states she thinks she is far better than Leona Lewis and criticises one of the UK's biggest selling artists for having "no personality".

I dunno about you but I look for a good voice when I pick what music I like, I couldn't care less if they have a bubbly personality or not.

So bored of these arrogant nobodies spouting rubbish for attention

She got it right. If a good voice is all you care about then fine but it doesn't define the term "X-Factor" although you wouldn't know it if you have ever seen that show.
People do go mental on that show when some stranger hits the high note in their 30 second karaoke session. If that is the sign of a great star then it's a bit tragic.
I'm all for people enjoying it but don't take it or it's winners any more seriously that a bit of light fluffy entertainment.

I think Leona has proved she's a bit more than a bit of light fluff. And if having 'no personality' means she isnt an agressive in your face attitude ridden horror, then give me 'no personality' any time over the shallow self absorbed crap we seem to have as 'pop stars' these days.

She is spot on about Leona though.

But Little Boots is just another Lily Allen clone herself that seems to have come around alot in the last two years.

She's right about the vastly overrated Miss Lewis however Little Boots is just a very bad Europop act.

Let's see if Miss Boots' evidently lovely personality gets her anywhere near Leona's success.

i don't like her. i just can't warm to her. agree with what someone else said about everyone thinking she was the next big thing. she came 1st on bbc sound of 09 and Lady GaGa came 6th. She obviously isn't the next big thing seeing as Lady GaGa has become a round the world chart topping superstar and someone else who was lower placed who has become successful is La Roux

I completely agree with this. The X Factor is more about TV than music. Personality and having something interesting to say usually comes through in an artist's music so it is an extremely important quality which unfortunately seems to be increasingly overlooked, especially nowadays in the X Factor age. Lots of people can sing - it's really just the tip of the iceberg and in the grand scheme of things, isn't really all that important in my opinion. Obviously, it helps to have a good voice but it is much more important to be individual and interesting and not another warbling "good singer" clone.

That's because she hasn't released her album or a single yet.

Spot on! I only like one or two songs of Leona's but I can't stand the rest of the X Factor lot. IMO they're overhyped for what they really are. I listened to Little Boots' songs on Youtube and they're not bad. Good songs to dance to I guess!

I would give her opinion a bit more respect if she herself hadn't auditioned for the show. As right now she just comes across as bitter especially with the "I'm better than them" comment.

To be honest I think gives her more of an insight into the whole tv-pop situation.

I think she is crap and has a bad attitude.

I notice the envy she has of Lady GaGa but Lady GaGa has a talent for writing catchy beats.

This New In Town is the worst song I have heard from a new artist in years and should never have been given the green light for a first single. She is going to flop.

Totally agree with you. Quote from interview below.
"Just so long as I'm not compared to Lady GaGa!"
To be honest I don't think she'd ever be compared to Lady GaGa seeing as Lady GaGa actually has big talent.

From one audition 9 years ago? Even so it comes across as bitter when she says that personality is important , as if to imply that her one is somewhat superior to others.

She's no musical expert so to claim that Leona doesn't have , as she puts it "the X factor" when Leona was one of the world's best selling artists last year is quite stupid really.

To walk around acting pretentious with a teacup is not talent.

How about you actually try listening to her live, instead of making silly comments about things she does apart from singing?

Haven't heard anything from this Little Boots person yet, will reserve judgement until I do.

Think Little Boots is superb - lots of great songs on the forthcoming album. For the sake of this thread though might be worth pointing out that she strongly denied making those comments about Leona Lewis.

On personality/interesting pop stars - 99% aren't. But fans like to project an image onto them as it then justifies the fandom. A pop star slagging off other pop stars isn't interesting, it's sub-schoolyard vacuous rubbish which is why the greatest, most enduring stars have always concentrated on their own music and stayed out of the tabloid quote game.

I have listened to her live, on Jonathan Ross and Chris Moyles played the stuff she did in the Live Lounge.
