Anyone else have a Jailbroken device?
It is so much better i think, but since the appstore arrived its not as much of a draw as it was.

I used to- there were some really nice themes available!

I agree about the App Store making it not as big a draw as it once was- that was what made me stop Jailbreaking my iPod Touch. I thought it would be easier just to stick with the official stuff, and gameswise and appwise it is, but I so wish they'd introduce themes to the App Store!

The ability to tether the internet connection is quite a big draw. You can also use the iPod touch as a wifi adapter with a JB'd touch

I've been using my N95 for the same task, and it doesn't need to be jailbroken Its a fantastic facility - don't often have to use it, but its nice to have (like when our broadband went out a few weeks back - N95 did the job incredibly well).

jailbreaking is so simple to do now and basically risk free (no more risky than updating your official firmware) it's worth doing just in case. Despite that there are loads of really good reasons to do so. The app store still has a boatload of restrictions that mean you just can't do certain things. Stuff I can do jailbroken:

Themes
Live clock/weather icons. Shows the real time and weather on the icons.
Record video
Use the emoji emoticon icons in texts/anywhere
Upload and view documents rather than just looking at them online.
Scrobble to last.fm from the iPod
Download and save YouTube videos to the device.
Place quick dial numbers as icons to just press.
Quickly enable/disable services (Bluetooth/wifi etc) anf alter brightness from any page.
Organize programs into sub folders.
...

And more.

+ Emulators: Snes, GBA Roms can be run with a Jb'd device
+ Animated backgrounds (not wallpapers, the actual black background)
+ Access to the apps banned from AppStore, like the Simpsons app etc
