I'm sure their price has attracted a lot of business, it's a good price, but not to dissimilar to online prices which have to take delivery costs in to account (Richer sound deal in-store only).

I can't imagine anywhere dropping the price much further, not unless Dixons go on one of their loss-leader campaigns! Humax would need to drop the trade value first.

I brought a Harmony remote in Richersounds a few weeks back.

It was advertised on their web site for £59 but when I went to the shop the salesman said (confirmed by in store flyer) that the price was £69. When I said to him that the web price was £10 less he gave me a match price.

Don’t know if this is the norm but in my case it worked.

It's quite normal for Richer Sounds - they even say so on the website. I always try bargaining when I go there too - you can usually get a few quid off or a free cable or two thrown in for nothing.

yes Richersounds do have a variable price policy - I used to buy What Hifi magazine and the prices advertised were always cheaper than the in-store price. Just take the magazine with you and they will honour the price. Saved lots doing this over the years and the savings more than cover the cost of buying the magazine.

I received the 'VIP' email from Richer Sounds, offering the Humax HDR for £249.95, it said to mention the lower price when at the store, which I did. No further questions were asked to verify the email, and the only information they held on me was my email address, so that price would seem to be available to anyone that mentions the VIP email, but for anyone a bit nervous, registering for the VIP email service only takes a few seconds, and you can then log on with that email address and check the latest offers and prices.
