I'm sorry but they won't accept you because having been in a wheel chair then it means you would fail the medical.
so no you would never have the chance to go on bb!

Surely that's illegal under the discrimination laws?

No.
Its a bit like the army really.
You got to pass the medical check or you don't get through to the next round.

I dont see why a disabled person should'nt be on BB. as long as their general state of health is ok, then why not?.

Why would somebody fail a medical just because they're in a wheelchair? The medical is just to make sure contestants are healthy and wont be dropping dead in week 6 or spending 3 hours a day coughing.

You should apply, the only problem I could see would be the producers deciding that it would be too much effort to make tasks that take the chair into account. Or maybe fire regulations..but that shouldn't be a problem either, as I'm sure I heard that a brand new house was being built for BB3.

You've got nothing to lose by applying. It would probably do this country some good to see a disabled person on television for a reason other than acting or taking part in a documentary.

Definetly Helen. I think she's been the most genuine person in the house, not trying to impress or anything. She doesn't make any excuses for who she is either. I think she might win it too, a lot of people seem to be going off Brian.

I've no idea where we get the forms, I'm assuming all will be revealed at the end of the show. Does anybody know what the selection process entails? I'm assuming we have to send a video and try and get ourselves noticed, and then maybe be called for group auditions where everybody mucks about in groups of 50 for a day or something and they see what people are like at interacting. And then one-on-one interviews if you're successful from there?

Please be aware that, regarding health checks, all they will want to be aware of is that you will be able to complete tasks. The sort of medical checks they will do, would be the same sort of ones for insurance. Y'know, just to check if you're going to have a heart attack inthe next 6 months, if you've got a chronic blood disease, or a pending brain tumor.

Just remember tho', that if BB are seen to be refusing people with disabilities there credibility would automatcially sink. Is is in there interest to show no discrimination.

I also believe that featuring a housemate who does have a registered disabilitiy would encourage a more broadband viewing

Tracey I say go for it, if you need any encouragement then there is an article of the winner of the US Big Brother last year that you can find here.

He was unable to do the bicycle challenge but that was it. It was interesting to see just how well he coped with having only one leg. Incase your wondering he lost his leg to cancer when he was 12 but the way he has dealt with it and overcome his disability made me proud of him.
