Myguide 3218 Sat Nav
Eater Sundae
30-04-2009
Does anyone know what information is written on the screen when you are navigating? Does it include your current speed? Thanks.

Edit: Just to clarify. I'm looking to buy a fairly basic sat nav to replace my old Garmin i3, primarily to get newer maps. The write ups on ebuyer seem pretty positive - it has a feature called "lane indication", which I thought may be useful. On the whole, I don't need advanced bells and whistles, but I've noticed with my Garmin that it would be better if it had a "current speed" read out (only available when in map mode, not in navigation mode), so I was wondering if the Navigo has this. Up until now I've not found this by searching, so thought someone might already know. Thanks.

I would avoid this like the plague!

From what I have read on a specialist GPS website I frequent it looks like MyGuide no longer exist as a company. They certainly no longer have a website. So getting upgrades and the like out of them is going to be problematic to say the least.

If I were you I would stick with the big boys, TomTom, Garmin and Navman. There is certain to be a product in one of their ranges that suits your budget.

As for Speed indications. My TomTom certainly shows speed at all times. And I'm pretty sure all the models lower down the range than mine do as well. On mine you can configure it to show the current speed plus the speed limit for the road you are on if that data is available. At 10% or so over the speed limit the readout changes from white text on blue to white on red. You can also set warning sounds so you don't have to sit staring at the screen all the time.
