Nokia N97
Just Wondering What People Think The Nokia N97 Will Cost On Contract As My Contract Is Due For Renewal When It Comes Out I Currently Have A £25 A Month Contract But Usually Spend £30 Or More A Month. So Anyone Know Roughly How Much It Will Cost Me A Month On 18 Month Contract Renewal.
If You Havnt Seen The Nokia N97 Yet Heres The Linkhttp://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobi...-n97?WT.srch=1 |

who knows. i'm going to get one whatever.
one thing i have noticed looking at the vod site is that if you go up £5pcm a month on the rental the phone seems to get £90 cheaper so you may as well get more minutes or whatever than pay cash for the phone. |

I'm currently on 3 and quite like the network. It doesn't sound like the N97 is coming to them any time soon so it looks like I shall be joining Voda for the first time.
Only thing that's putting me off is this so called unlimited Internet thing - which it isn't as it's limited to 500mb. I like to use the BBC iplayer, slingplayer and other bits and bobs. I'd be interested to hear other peoples' experiences of this. |

500meg is a ot but not if you stream video all day. it is un limited in the sense that they wont charge you for going over. if you do it more than a few times though they will ask you to either not do it or move to a higher data tariff.

i have seen the black n97 all i will say is "very nice!" i am still in 2 minds however, do i get the n97 or the HTC magic "htc version when it comes out?"
i don't know, i am not very impressed with the series 60 availability of apps, it seems to be alot more difficult at the moment to get apps on your series 60 device where the magic is a simple market place and download direct to the device.. Only time will tell i guess

oh i know the cost price is high and so is the upgrade price......but compared to a new contract it hurts to see networks charging old customers more to stay on with them when retention should be the name of the game

Ok, my next question: Are mobilephonesdirect a reputable firm, i.e, has anyone had any dealings with them?.
Plus, what d'ya reckon, silver or black? |

All ive got to say is this - Palm Pre, google it
![]() Seriously the N97 os looks clustered and too dull in my opinion. Seriously there arent enough widgets on it to even make good use of. Having said that, I think the n97 is a good alternative to the iphone as many like me prefer physical keys rather than touch screen ones. Even if a new iphone is released this june/july I still dont rate it as a phone, marketing gimmick over substance comes to mind. 1. Palm Pre 2. E71 3. HTC Touch Pro 2 (June) 4. N97 5. Maybe new iphone |

Plus, what d'ya reckon, silver or black? Yes MPD are a reputable firm. They currently have around 15 shops i think, some of their stores are Nokia Branded though so you might have seen them in the high street without knowing it. |

I was told that the N97 would not be coming to 3 just yet. Not sure on a date. This annoys me - you read about a phone that you like only to discover that the release date is 6 months time.
