If this story is true, NOTW did not invent it.
The public are interested because an attempt has been made by a person who came into 5 million homes to pass himself as one person turned out to have quite another side.
Had he not advertised himself in glowing terms there would have been no debunking. How he could have thought this would not come out after The Apprentice made him a short-term celebrity is beyond me.

The story seems to have come from the first woman, who seemed to be bitter about how the relationship ended, and who was attempting to disrupted his current relationship with the second woman. And presumably sold the story for 4 figures? All the persons in this story now have their privacy invaded, and will be typecast and sniggered at in the classroom and pointed out in the street.
Anyone considering to become a national TV good guy needs to check out old and current skeletons in the cupboard first.
With everything going in the world this non-story occupies the front page of the Mirror and sums up what a shit newspaper it is.
