According to D.M.N. on the Ratings Thread Hotl Babylon is back soon which would push toward back until at least August ... ”

Since BBC America have given July as the airdate 'live on air' it's highly unlikely that Torchwood will be pushed back again. And since Torchwood itself has been taken off for a week because of a special event - we had to wait 2 weeks between Fragments and Exit Wounds or Adrift and Fragments - there's no reason why the same won't happen to Hotel Babylon.

A good point in support of what I posted

Has anyone considered that Hotel Babylon may actually be on the Sunday night? There is only a repeat of New Tricks on the previous Sunday, and with Hope Springs and Hotel Babylon that could be a good Sunday night line up. This would still free up the week schedule on the week Wimbledon starts for Torchwood. Just a thought!

Yes, another reasonable and valid thought.

As I already posted here:
20th July in the US confirmed, as it's the launch date of BBC America HD. It's apparently the same day in the UK as well. Info from Wikipedia, but at least they state their sources.

Don't click the Wikipedia link if you don't want a spoiler.

Hotel Bablyon is going to be on Fridays (see the BBC Press Office website http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pro...wk25/fri.shtml) so Torchwood *COULD* be on Sunday to Thursday at some point in the next 6 weeks.

Since we haven't had a single trailer for COE on BBC1, that's been obvious for a while.

Or, for one week only, Hotel Babylon could be postponed. And of course, as detailed in another thread, as BBC America has a confirmed start of 20th July, that's the date when we see it as well.

Wouldn't this be on the BBC press Program information page by now if this was the tx date?

Bound to be the week of 20th July - first week of the school holidays - excellent timing ! We went away on the
11th of April (Planet of the Dead day)too, so I'll book our holidays for October and Christmas and then let everyone know when the next specials are on....We will ironically be in Wales, but in a cottage with a tiny telly that only gets a gaelic channel and welsh channel 4. Fingers crossed freeview box doesn't freeze.....

Oddly, Hotel Babylon starts next week in a Friday 9pm slot for a run of 8 episodes which would mean Torchwood will usurp it for that week in July. UNLESS, we have to wait even longer?!

Contacted the bbc and got this reply :-

Thank you for contacting the BBC. Unfortunately it is still a little too early for the BBC to announce the final broadcast date of Torchwood Children of Earth just in case schedules change unexpectedly. We would not like to confirm a date and raise peoples expectations only for plans to change yet again. However, it is very likely to be around the same date as announced by BBC America.

Kind Regards,

Torchwood Web Team

If BBCA are definately showing COE during the week commencing 20th July, we should be getting it either the same week or the week before, unless BBCA don't care about dissapointing fans as much as BBC UK.

With the BBC Press Office confirming Torchwood for w/c 4th July and Hotel Babylon confirmed for the 9pm slot on Friday 10th July http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pro...wk27/fri.shtml then it looks more likely for a Sunday (or possibly Saturday) start then.

Or they simply move/postpone Hotel Babylon for that one, single week.

No Mate, the BBC *ARE* broadcasting Hotel Babylon on 20th July at 9. So it's either a Saturday 4th or Sunday 5th start date.

Quote:
“In the new issue of Radio Times magazine out today, there's a one page article on the Torchwood radio plays towards the back of the mag, including a small interview with John. At the end of the article, it confirms that COE will air the following week Monday to Friday at 9pm”

It also looks like COE will be the main feature in the following issue as Jack, Gwen and Ianto are at the top of the 'next week' page.

Can you categorically state that though, especially as we are now talking about w/c 6th -10th July?

My point is that, in the world of the scheduler, no programme, however listed, is a definite. And as we know that TW will air on BBC1 in a block for maximum impact, it is only reasonable that the BBC move one programme for one week, despite any normal schedule.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1051492

Unless of course you have specific inside knowledge?

The idea that Hotel Babylon is such a key part of the BBC's schedules that it can't skip a week is quite amusing.
