Yep, they microwave most burgers - there's been quite a few threads about it on here

yep, last one I had was nuked. It's not like they hide it either. I could easily see the girl do it from the drivethru window.

First they steam the burgers, then they put them over a flame for a minute.
They then microwave them if not sold within a minute or two. They've been doing it for as long as I can remember. Undercover TV programmes have shown them doing so throughout the country too. |

I don't really care how they cook them, they taste miles better than McDonalds.

If you abuse the staff, they pee on your food too.

Steam the burgers ![]() They're put through the broiler from frozen. The steamers only keep the meat & bun moist & warm prior to being put together. I was an assistant manager of one about 10 years ago, & whoppers are microwaved for about 8 seconds (only the heel of the bun & the meat). Hamburgers & Cheesburgers are microwaved after assembly for about 5 seconds. Longer if there are 2 or 3. They're industrial microwaves, so a minute would probably cause the burger to catch fire. Veggie whoppers were microwaved to cook (about 30 seconds IIRC). |

Regardless of which, how can anybody go to a chain of industrialised "food" and expect fine dining?
It's all rubbish. Like it? Great, but don't go expecting hand cut fries with organic fresh ketchup.

I suppose you could ask for your burger to be freshly flame grilled but that may take the fast food element out of it.

I've always been disconcerted by BK doing this!
When I am in my self-loathing binge eating periods I now only go to Maccie D's. I was in a railway station the other day and had a BK cheeseburger - really gristly it was. Nasty BK are more expensive than MD's too. At least McDonalds just fries the burgers, assembles them, wrap them up and put them in a warm place for a bit (then chuck away after five minutes or whatever) - more natural than microwaving the things. And they don't have proper salt either - just lo-salt that has a disgusting metallic fake taste. |
