Rap music and gun culture

I've been watching the documentary series on the above subject. Now there seems to be divided opinion as to whether there is a real link between the recent phenonmena of gun culture in the UK and rap/garage/urban music, (the argument has been raging for years in the US).

Do you guys think that rap influences gun crime? If so, should music be censored for the sake of public safety?

I believe that there is off course a connection between the two but I don't believe that rap influences gun crime anymore than films or the news or violent televsion programmes.

Please could you tell us what series this is? I would have liked to have watched it.

I think it's safe to assume that urban gun culture in the US influences urban gun culture in the UK.

Hiphop/garage may be related but I'd be surprised if it was a contributing factor in itself.
