3 Network Problem
I'm wondering if anyone else is having a problem (other than usual rubbishness) with 3 at the moment. I'm only able to connect to the 3g part of their service. If I'm in an area where I'd usually only get 2g, then instead I get nothing. Also, if I set the phone to only use 2g (which usually works) then I also get nothing.
This is really inconvenient for me as it means I can only use the phone outside, and in one place in my whole house. 3 customer services claim there is no outage and that I should "wait" to see if it fixes itself. (Yeh, thanks for that!) So can anyone else get 2g service? Thanks |

I keep finding that I only access the internet when I have 3G coverage and i've had so many problems with dropouts really (i.e. can be on the phone to someone and it'll disconnect for no reason)
and finally the big one that really annoys me, it can take hours to receive a text sometimes, to the point that people think i'm ignoring you if they don't have delivery reports turned on! Cannot wait for my contract to end in August! (though surely I must have some legal way out of it because of the above, it's appaling service) |

I had this exact problem and it turned out to be the phone. I got it swapped and it was solved.
I had/have the Sony K770i. |

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Mojomaster, for me it's not the phone as I've tried it on 3 different phones and it's the same. I went into a 3 shop today and asked them and I was told that they were in the process of upgrading things and during the upgrade they have to turn things off before they can put it back on with the upgrade applied. How true this is I don't know. He said I could phone 333 and tell them my postcode and they can say how long it'll be before it's upgraded. |
