I think with the 'handsome and dreamy' thread and the Cam appreciation thread already in place nobody really thought of adding to it

...But as you're here it's another opportunity for me to rabbit on about their partnership They're still THE definitive Strictly couple imo. Gethin started out with wooden hips and a reserved nature, but from the foxtrot onwards he really started to take off Their Waltz was nothing short of glorious and is just one of their routines that I watch over and over again

Gethin was and is a real gentleman and Camilla did some of her best routines for him. I just hope I get to see them dancing together live one day...

same, I love them. They are such a good couple. If they are ever live I am sooooooo going to see them. In a way, I would actually like them to be a couple. Thats why I keep writing stories about them both.

I think it's a bit late for both of you as they both have serious partners. And why not?

Camilla was so lucky to get Gethin as her partner and unlucky not to win - which they should have done. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

It's been a unfortunate series of circumstances for me for 2 years since the blinking dance off was introduced. Gethin was a far superior dancer to Tom -for me - and I would have been more than happy for him to win.

I he won, I would actually screamthe house down.

Tbh nancy I thought that overall Tom was the better dancer but Gethin was the best thing that ever happened to Strictly and Camilla Tom started out with natural timing, nothing like as many inhibitions as Gethin and a real desire to dance...and his routines showcased his talents brilliantly imo

Gethin was, at least to me at the beginning, just a decent looking guy I'd never heard of who might limp through a few weeks and then disappear. Instead, he kept getting better...and better...and better and being caught up in the excitement on the GG's thread on the beeb boards at the time made SCD5 the best series yet imo...and I still think Gethin should be awarded the Glitterball retrospectively

I don't dispute Tom's natural talent Stu and the showdance is a treasure. But I just couldn't get on with his style of dancing for the most part (don't start me on the expressions!) his ballroom had a lot of faults, and I honestly don't think Camilla's choreography was on a par with what she created with Gethin, showdance excepted. Talking about styles, it's amusing to watch back the 40s group dance to see just how much better Gethin is than the pros. Brendan in particular is guilty of 'overdoing' it while Geth is very natural and unforced. Just how a serviceman would have danced off duty then in fact.

Hmmm...I know what you mean about the Jitterbug, Nancy I think Tom did the same in the saturday night fever routine but I do prefer the jitterbug. If I had to choose the 'better' routines they'd go like this...

I really liked Gethin and Camilla and I still think had they got to the final (darn dance off stitch up) they'd have won.

It's the Welsh version of Channel 4 - mostly Welsh speaking programmes shown

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer Gethin's partnering with Flavia - their appearance together on 2009 tour, and on last years Christmas special was fantastic. After seeing Flavia struggling every week with Craig Kelly, it was lovely to watch her dance with Gethin - great idea to team them up.

I must admit that i agree with you here. Although gethin and camillas partnership was very good, i prefer his partnering with flavia too.
Its a shame that Matt, Gethin and Alesha were all in the same series as i think that there was potential for all three of them to be well worthy winners.

I preferred Tom to Gethin but I don't even know why Tom had to be brought up, it was Alesha who beat Gethin not Tom.
